Prompt, open line of communication at all times, took detailed notes on exactly what we were looking for. Left us brochures, with samples, on roofing products and colors, fully explained the warranty. After comparing a few different contractors we got a great price. The team was attentive and...

My wife and I came up with a plan for our dream house after months of research and discussion. Our preferred contractor looked at the plans we drew and had some suggestions, of which one was to have a set of professional construction drawings made. We contacted Koal PLLC for this service. The...

The experience could not have been better. Although I was paying a little more than I might have paid to a different contractor, I could see from the start that I had made the right decision choosing Black Ox. I had every confidence the roof would be what I expected and am. The contractor...

He showed up when he said he would and was very friendly and professional. He had to come on 2 separate days to do all of the work we needed done. The big job was repairing 2 outdoor lights that hadn't worked in years. The problem was bad wiring and some faulty junction boxes. He was...

Excellent contractor! Owner, who made the first visit to scope out the job - along with the installer, were both extremely professional, honest and courteous. Job was done for exactly the amount of the estimate - and was done extremely well using high quality parts (stainless steel lag...

They were unprofessional and dishonest. The workers and subcontractors drank our liquor out of our liquor shelf. They installed the kitchen sink incorrectly. I had to pay someone else to reinstall this. They did the plumbing in the bathroom backwards - hot was cold, cold was hot, and had to...

"We hired Cody to do some wallboard repair and to replace 4 interior Luan doors with 4 standard Masonite slabs in existing pre-hung door frames. The wall repair came out great, but the doors turned out to be well beyond his skill level. A carpenter friend had measured and delivered the doors to us, but he became too busy to do the work so we hired Cody. Surprisingly Cody claimed the standard doors were 1/8â too wide and too tall, and that both the width and height had to be trimmed. We questioned him but trusted his â expertiseâ and relented. He wound up cutting off so much of the width and height that we are left with visible gaps between the doors and the jambs. And because the barrel of the doorknobs did not reach the strike plates, he "fixed" his mistake by â doubled upâ two strike plates on each door so three catch - the fourth still doesn't. In short, he ruined $400 worth of doors, which have to be replaced â and installed â by a competent contractor. Cody refuses to discuss a solution, claiming that he warned us that trimming the doors would be problematic, and blaming us for telling him to cut the doors â all of which we vigorously deny. He was the one who suggested the â fix,â and we trusted he knew what he was doing. It wasnâ t until he was finished that we saw the horrific mistakes and that his workmanship was abysmal. Weâ ve never written a bad review but cannot recommend Bartonâ s Perfection if you need carpentry work. His work was far from â perfection.â"

FAQs for cabinet contracting projects in Bridgewater, VT
Custom cabinets are worth the investment to transform the look of your kitchen with a design, color scheme, and aesthetic that’s unique to your home. If you’re looking for cabinets that reflect your personality but are more cost-effective, semi-custom cabinets are a great alternative that allows you to showcase your style, but with pre-made cabinets instead of fully custom. Custom cabinets also provide a 70 to 80 percent return on investment, making them a worthwhile purchase.
The cost of cabinet refacing is $7,230 on average. However, it's possible to pay between $1,200 and $16,000 for this project. Factors like the number of cabinets and the refacing materials impact the total cost significantly.
For example, plastic laminate is the most cost-effective cabinet option for refacing, costing $1,000 to $3,000. If you're looking for solid wood cabinets, you can expect to pay more, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 on average for refacing.
The difference between cabinet refinishing vs. cabinet refacing is that the latter involves replacing most of the cabinet components, whereas the former only freshes the exterior look of the cabinetry.
Cabinet refinishing involves the cabinetry being disassembled, cleaned, and sanded, then a new finish, like paint or glaze, is applied. You can refinish the cabinet doors or go further and refinish the cabinet boxes, too.
Cabinet refacing involves replacing the majority of the cabinet materials, including the cabinet, drawer doors, and hardware. In this process, a veneer is applied over the existing cabinet boxes to make them look new.
The cost to refinish cabinets is $3,000 on average. However, this cost can range from $700 to $6,000, depending on the size and location of the cabinets, the refinishing method, and number of cabinets.
Staining your cabinet doors is the most cost-effective option, costing between $4 and $10 per square foot. However, if you choose to glaze them, that price jumps to $10 to $25 per square foot.
Custom cabinets cost between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot on average to install. Factors like materials, size, and type of cabinet doors you choose significantly affect the overall cost.
For example, a basic slab cabinet door can cost $60 to $70 for materials alone. As its name suggests, this material is a piece of wood with no unique features. However, a mullioned glass inset panel door, which features a designed glass panel, ranges from $100 to $200 for materials per cabinet door.
