"Excellent work from Rick and his team. From initial contact all the way to job completion was stellar. I requested to have Rick and his crew clear, grade and spread topsoil in order to extend my backyard and remove the huge burm left behind from the initial construction of my home in 2014. Rick was able to complete the job in less than 2 days. Now we have a backyard we’ve always wanted. I would definitely recommend Rick for any clearing and excavation projects and will be using the company for future projects. Thanks Rick and Team!"

"I recently bought a house with 10 acres so that I could start a farmette. Only a small part of the acreage was cleared but not enough for all my critters. John called me within 24 hours of me requesting a quote. He was at my house to take a look at my project. As we were talking he realized I had many projects but all of it was on a budget. He not only cleared and bushhogged the area I requested he suggested a way I could get twice the area ready for fencing for a small amount more. He and Amber make a great team."

"Mr Johnson was very nice and professional. Started the job exactly as scheduled and made it look easy. Mr Johnson had to remove several large trees that were within feet of the backside of my garage. Other, more local contractors, refused to take on this job. Mr Johnson had no hesitations. His experience and knowledge was on full display."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

A land survey defines and records the physical aspects of a property, including its boundaries, dimensions, easements, features, and sometimes topographical information. In contrast, a land appraisal determines the property's monetary value. While an appraiser will often consult a land survey to understand the property's physical specifications, the survey itself does not determine the land's value.

This is fairly rare, but sometimes the local government or a group like a historical society will label a tree as a landmark, or historical item. These designations almost always come with a small, on-site plaque for identification, but you should also be able to look up protected trees in your area on a city website or similar list. If the tree in question is a landmark, call your local government and ask how to proceed before making any plans.

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.

A land survey can take anywhere from a few hours to a month or more, depending on the size of the property, the type of survey, the property’s accessibility and topography, and the availability of historical property records. A simple boundary survey to determine a fence line can be completed in a day while surveying 50 acres of undeveloped woodlands may take weeks or longer.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.
