"American Custom Concrete resurfaced our patio, replaced our steps to the back of house and the concrete steps to the laundry room last month. We were very pleased with the way it all turned out and the quality of work. They were a pleasure to work with."

"Wow! Let me start by saying I had several contractors come by to give me estimates on fixing some major concerns I’ve had in my yard for quite a while. I needed a professional who could complete everything I needed at a reasonable price. Well, Mr Julio Escobar (ET General Contractor Inc) was able to accommodate everything I needed done. He listened to everything I needed and provided excellent suggestions as to the right approach to do the job. This entailed re-sloping my backyard to direct water away from my house foundation and installing a drainage system in my backyard. My backyard was a barren wasteland that needed quite a bit of work. I had barely any grass on one side with many trees that I wanted removed in order to get more sunlight and allow grass to grow. Julio’s crew did an amazing job (cut down trees, removed all branch/log debris and grinded/ground the stumps down to the roots). His crew planted 29 Japanese Cedar trees along my fence line. My appreciation goes out to Julio Escobar for working with the nursery to get me all Japanese Cedars instead of the Leyland Cypress trees. Exactly what I wanted all along. God Bless you! He and his crew trucked in tons of river rock to lay around my pool and along the foundation in the back of the house and then laid, I forget how many, rolls of sod. These guys worked hard and in the worst heat of the summer. Lastly, but definitely not least he and his crew brought in clean topsoil and organic compost, grass seed, and fertilizer to cover my front yard (that also was a wasteland). After that he aerated the area and laid sod on the sides of my driveway so that there would be no run off when it rained. I can’t express enough how professional, courteous, and attentive Mr Escobar and his entire crew were throughout the entire job. I would definitely use them again for future projects. God Bless them for their hard work and strong work ethic!"

"Steve Norfolk and his crew dug down to the footing and applied the waterproof material a section at a time.  The original plan was to dig the entire area first and then apply the waterproof material all at the same time.  However daily torrential rains turned the area into a sea of mud, so he decided to do it a section at a time to minimize problems associated with the rain.  He had to break up a concrete slab (porch) for 1/2 the front, and approximately 25 feet of driveway next to the house.  Progress was slow due to the rain and mud, but Steve steadfastly pursued the completion of the job despite the setbacks.  Although justifiably discouraged by the rain and lack of progress, he exhibited a positive "can do" attitude and kept at it.  The finished product was professionally done.  Backfill and all concrete were properly completed, and grass seed applied.  Steve is a conscientious professional who knows his business and can be relied upon to do the work he says he will accomplish.  I would use him again in a heartbeat.

"Troy did two projects for us. His bid for the initial project (repairing deep depressions in the yard, re-sodding, grading, transplanting bushes, and planting a tree) was not the lowest we received but was the most comprehensive and reasonably priced. He responded in person to assess the project and was on site at the start of the work. His staff is professional. They worked quickly and efficiently. When it became apparent that some additional material was necessary to complete the project, the crew immediately called for the material and finished the work that day, at no additional cost to us. We were so pleased with that work that we again hired him to reset our front patio and walk, and backfilling erosion under the patio and walk. Even though Troy was out of town, his foreman was on site to supervise the work, which was again performed quickly and efficiently. Troy gets an A+ in our book."

"They removed the old fence down and had the new fence up by 3:00 in the afternoon.  As they were cleaning up to leave, a large tree fell on the fence.  They cut the tree up for us and repaired the section of fence at no additional charge.  Very professional.

"The gas fireplace in our newly purchased home began cutting out for no apparent reason. The technician inspected and cleaned our fireplace and discovered the cause of the problem - a malfunctioning pilot assembly. He clearly explained the problem and also told us a lot we didn't know about the use and care of our fireplace. This was extremely helpul to us. For example, we didn't know that it was a ventless fireplace and that we didn't need to open the flue. He also advised us to always keep the pilot light lit (I had been leaving it extinguished when not it use).
They needed to order the pilot assembly, which took longer than expected. Apparently it was a difficult part to find. The only minor complaint we have is that we weren't updated on the status of the order. The technician informed us that we would be contacted later that day or the next day to schedule the repair. I finally called after two days since I handn't heard back from the company. That was when I was informed that they were having difficulty locating the part.
After they ordered the part, the next available appointment was 12 days after initial inspection. The technician was running late, but both he and his supervisor called to let me know ahead of time that he wouldn't arrive at the original scheduled time. We appreciated the notice. The repair was successfully completed and the fireplace has been working perfectly since.

Concrete Cutting questions, answered by experts

The average cost for a welding project is about $300, with typical costs ranging from $125 to $490. However, prices can be as low as $125 for very small jobs or exceed $1,200 for large or complex projects. Welders typically charge an hourly rate between $65 and $150, depending on their experience, and many charge a minimum fee to cover overhead and travel expenses. The total cost is influenced by several factors, including labor, the cost of materials like metal rods and shielding gas, the type of metal being welded, the project's size and complexity, and your geographic location. For a precise quote, it's best to ask a local welder for an estimate based on your specific project.

It will likely take an experienced pro less than an hour to install a ground rod, which is another reason why letting them handle the job is such a good idea. Safety concerns aside, it would likely take you much longer to install a ground rod if you decided to take this one as a DIY job.

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

Professional metal fabricators typically charge around $70 per hour, but the total cost of your project will depend on several factors. The largest cost drivers are the size, complexity, and design of the project, as well as the price and type of metal used. A good way to estimate the total cost is to multiply the cost of raw materials by four; typically, one-quarter of the total goes toward materials and three-quarters toward labor. Your geographic location can also influence costs, as labor and material prices vary by region.
