"Tree removal was completed quickly and without any damage. The rest of the job was to clean our property of leaves, mulch branches and clean up the tree felling. It took a long time to get them to return, but they did return eventually the leaves were blown to our property edge, and the branches were piled up out of sight. The ground was muddy which meant the large sections of the trunk were still where they fell but the owner stated to contact him when it is drier and he will bring equipment to move it. We hope to get the pile of branches mulched at that time as well. The time that passed between tree felling and returning is our main issue. The business owner did apologize for the long delay. Had the cleanup happened within a week of the job starting, the branches mulched as initially requested and trunks hauled away our rating would have been higher. If we get owner to return and remove the tree trunk pieces and mulch the pile of branches within the next couple of weeks we would revisit our review."

Customers say: True professional

"I had been told by two other companies they would take care of my lawn and after 6 weeks of no grass being cut, I was feeling like I may need to buy a mower and do it myself. Semper Fi Landscaping and Lawn Care came out, quoted a fair price, and took care of my lawn the same day I first made contact. They have been taking care of my lawn every week since. Thanks :)"

"I wanted various shrubs and trees trimmed back, and also shaped. I went over with Tim and his crew what I wanted done, and they had great suggestions. It covered both front and back yard. They did an excellent job and it took about 4 hours as they worked quickly."

Small jobs welcome

"Jeff is extremely responsive. The day I submitted the request for quotes on HomeAdvisor he went by our house and had a quote ready to go. The day we chose him to handle our lawn he went to the house and mowed. The quality of his mowing and yard maintenance is excellent."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

When a surface that contains lead dust is disturbed, the dust can float about in the air for roughly an hour before settling again. Since you cannot see the dust, it is important always to wear protective gear when working with any materials that may contain lead paint and to keep children, pets, and others away from the area for as long as possible

The EPA enforces hazardous waste laws and ensures people dispose of their hazardous waste responsibly. Depending on where you live, your state’s hazardous waste regulatory agency may also enforce these laws. Individually, it’s up to each household to properly dispose of their hazardous waste.

Chlorine has a shelf life of between six months and several years, depending on its type and formulation. Liquid chlorine can often lose its effectiveness in just a few weeks. Pool owners can find themselves with overstock that they need to get rid of. The best way to dispose of excess chlorine is to take it to a hazardous waste collection site and let the pros handle it.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
