I liked Oscar and was happy with the finished product, he did additional work/fixes when I requested and at reasonable costs. I would hire them again. Make sure you have a detailed scope and discuss on site prior to starting, that would have saved both of us time on this project.

Oscar and his crew do high-quality work at a fair price! I've had them do multiple jobs at my properties and they have become my go-to source for handyman services.

My experiance with King General was fantastic. Oscar showed up early and went over the process and details of what we ordered. The rest of the team showed up and competed the job in 35 min. The job also included a roof inspection which was super helpful. Oscar provided pictures of all the roof issues we have and explanations of how to fix them. His knowledge of insurance help was also amazing. We will be requesting them to come back to help get our roof back to A+. Thank you King GC

This contractor was very professional, communicated timely, and did a great job with the porch and deck painting and power washing of the whole house. I would definitely hire again.

Oscar and his team arrived on time, did the work to my complete satisfaction, and stayed within the estimated cost. They wore masks as requested, and were very easy to deal with, updating me on progress as they went along. I highly recommend them, and believe they offer a fair price.

Oscar seems like a knowledgeable contractor who we were eager to do business with. Unfortunately, once we signed a contract and sent a down payment through his primary and only business email, Oscar told us that he never received our contract or money and that his account must have been hacked. He acknowledged the emails were sent from and received by his email account, as did his business email's service provider. We tried to work with him to find a solution for weeks until he eventually stopped responding, taking no responsibility for what was effectively a cyber attack on his business! We are out nearly two grand with no work to show for it as we scramble to find a new contractor.

Everything went well

Oscar Canales, and his associates Levis and Sergio did an excellent job of installing insulation in a bay window overhang at the level of the basement ceiling, followed by repairing a drywall hole due to a needed plumbing repair. They gave a quick estimate, were easy to work with to fine tune the final pricing, and did the work as promised, arriving on time and finishing as planned. They went above and beyond climbing on my roof to identify the source of a leak, that had eluded other companies which had tried to find the problem. This was done at no charge to me. The repair to the front door frame they did for me, to prevent water from entering my home, was done professionally and also as promised. I highly recommend them!

Oscar came the day after I called to provide original estimate on repair to stairs. After obtaining other estimates, I expanded the scope of work to add the additional supports. Oscar came out again and discussed options and different price points for each option. He was very good at listening to my thoughts and opinions and making sure that I was on board with what he was doing throughout the process. Work was completed within three weeks of original call. I would definitely use them again for other projects.

King General Contracting is an excellent choice for repair/renovation work for anyone with an older house. The owner used to live in the District and is very knowledgeable about all the quirks of DC row houses. They've been able to correctly identify issues with my house that I had mistakenly assumed were the result of some other damage, and have made lasting repairs. They are also flexible when it comes to scheduling and are extremely patient when trying to find parking in DC neighborhoods. Prior contractors have been unwilling to even give me an estimate when I tell them where I live.

Oscar and his team have done amazing work for us over the past few months. From fixing a water leak, to replacing some wood flooring in our basement to power washing the entire house and staining our back deck, we have come away very, very happy with the work Oscar and his team have performed.

Background - We had our traditional fireplace converted to gas. The company we hired to do the work made three 10 by 10 holes in our basement drywall in order to pull the gas line to the fireplace on the floor above. ============================================= King repaired the three holes, and the work was beautifully done! What impressed me most about Oscar, King's CEO, is that he was willing to come to our house to explain the work that needed to be done and provide an estimate. Three other companies provided quotes but over the phone or text and not in person. It is a good thing he did come out!! He discovered that one of the patches required special handling. 1 inch drywall screws for this patch could not be used because the 1 inchers would puncture duct work. In addition to the drywall work, Oscar provided some good suggestions about maintenance items we may want to consider in the future. We will definitely use King again!

King contractor was the first to contact me and very prompt for both initial and install date. Work was done excellently with pictures for verification.

I had multiple contractors come look at it, and most of them would not perform the work! apparently foundation contractors won't repair foundations that have been damaged in manners other than sinking (e.g. roots pushing it up). Oscar and his team offered to fix the problem, and the root, and he gave me two separate quotes based what was uncovered after removing the flooring to see the extent of the damage the roots caused. He was very responsive via text and phone, and was able to work in the short term (which i appreciate due the to sale of the home). I also added on some additional work to replace garage doors with a brick wall, and he texted me pictures of the different brick materials to make sure I agreed the color would be sufficient. I did have to haggle with him a little bit back and forth regarding the removal of the construction material debris and the cost for it, but we came to an amicable agreement based on his initial quote. I later needed a quick fix for an exterior attic vent that was damaged by animals, and Oscar replaced quickly for a good price!

Very pleasant to work with, arrived when promised, would hire again for similar work on house.

They always showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and were 100% professional. One time I called ready to replace a leaking skylight. The guy who came out to check it out found that the real problem was a gutter that needed adjusting and fixed it on the spot. Sometimes I've called them for work they don't do and they will always provide a reference to another company that does the type of work we need at a reasonable price. I've recommended them to friends and neighbors who also report being very happy with the work that King Contracting does.

The work was well done even with weather delays, the need to create the replacement piece offsite and the need for a 40 foot ladder! Started inquiry end of April and work was complete today.

The work was done on the same day they arrived for the estimate and it should not be an issue again.

Oscar and his team were great. They took care of everything efficiently. Siding looks good as new.
