"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

Precision Roofing understands that the last thing you want to worry about is a leaky roof. We will take the time to explain the process by which we will install your new roof. If a repair is needed, we will diagnose the problem, explain what has happened and usually fix it quickly and easily. Precision roofing is not just another roofing company for many reasons. The secret to our success is and always will be "quality workmanship" and "a guarantee of satisfaction". We don't require any payment prior to installing your new roofing. Instead, we collect at the end of each job when our roofing services have met, (or usually exceeded) your expectations. Our belief is that this provides you with a guarantee of satisfaction and is why we are highly rated by our customers throughout the state of Virginia.

We take pride in handling the vast majority of work in house. The few items we may subcontract out are only to contractors we have used numerous times before and know perform at the highest standard. We are just beginning to dabble into financing.

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

You should contact a local range hood installation professional to install your range hood and do the ductwork. Prices range from $50 to $100 per hour, with the total number of hours required varying based on the project complexity. Simple installations might take an hour or two, while more complicated ones can take four hours or more.

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

No, you can’t install just any microwave over your range. You have to get a specific type of microwave known as an over-the-range unit. These include venting and lighting features that you’ll need above your stovetop.

Although countertop units are more affordable, they won’t work for this type of installation. To avoid hazardous conditions in your kitchen, buy the right type of microwave for your needs.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.
