"Absolutely awesome service. The owner himself came to our rescue on a Saturday. We had no water from our well. It was a pressure pump that needed replacing, He worked on it most of the day, fixed it, and arranged for one of his employees to come out on Monday to change out water heater elements. We’re so grateful to him. Don’t know what we would’ve done."

And you as my future clients/costumers, can rest assured that you will be be put right there and I will aim to make your home/space as clean, comforting, and relaxing as I possibly can for you. After all a clean home is a happy home and a happy home creates comfort for us all. "I had an emergency HVAC furnace situation, which James fixed the same day it happened. James is very professional, thorough, and punctual. He called me as soon as I posted the job on Home Advisor. I certainly plan to utilize James in the future for my HVAC service needs including when I decide to upgrade my current HVAC system. I highly recommend Air Advantage."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

There are ways to detect a refrigerant leak with several different testing methods. However, most homeowners can figure out something’s wrong with their AC unit by noticing these common signs:

  • Ice forming on the evaporator coil

  • Water leaks near the AC unit

  • Frequent hissing sounds

  • Increased electric bills

  • Unit takes longer than usual to cool

  • Unit is blowing hot air

No, heat pump maintenance needs are very similar to air conditioners, including keeping outdoor units clean, changing filters regularly, and occasionally scheduling a refrigerant check to see if any has leaked out. Heat pumps typically switch automatically between heating and cooling, so you don’t need to worry about manually changing them every season. However, since they are always on call, they can develop wear and tear faster than an air conditioner.

You may be able to clean mold from your air conditioner in some cases. If the mold growth only takes up a small area, you can use either vinegar or bleach mixed with water to remove it. Larger areas of mold should be left to the professionals, though. It's also a good idea to leave mold removal to the pros if you are sensitive to mold or have asthma.

There are two main reasons your furnace and AC are turning on at the same time. The first could be that you’re confusing the furnace with the blower. The blower is located in the furnace and will turn on to distribute cool air from the air conditioner through the ductwork in the home. This is normal. If the actual furnace is turning on at the same time as the AC and hot and cool air are coming into the home, it could be a result of incorrect writing to a new thermostat or new systems.

After a while, dust, dirt, and other debris accumulates on an AC unit's coils and filters, making it less efficient and spreading allergens and other air pollutants throughout your home. Cleaning your AC unit will keep it running efficiently, minimizing future breakdowns and improving your indoor air quality.
