"Very well. Workers arrived promptly and worked steadily. They inspected for mold in my basement, removed duct cover where mold was found, built a new cover, applied mold preventive to the whole basement, and did an awesome clean-up, including vacuuming the whole basement. I was pleased that the job was done well and finished in a day. One worker returned two days later to sand the drywall, which had needed time to dry completely. I appreciate how they explained everything they were doing."

"Had to file a claim for new clothes dryer, and repairs on fridge. Foothills Star Appliance came to look at both. Eric was the repairman. He was friendly, answered all my questions, and very professional. I would highly recommend his company."

"In July we signed a contract.  Darrell said he would start in September and the day after Labor day his crew showed up and started building the breeze way for the new tiny house.  By the end of the week the breeze way was built and footers were poured for the house. The next weekend block was laid.  Framing started within the minimum time allowed for block to cure.  His crew had it framed, roofed, and windows in by the end of September.
After the framing was completed my wife and I decided there was not enough room on first floor for a bedroom. We were thinking of adding a bedroom in basement.  Darrell recommended we add bedroom to the side of the building.  Good decision.  He had the  12' X 12' addition framed and roofed within two days.  This was done in middle of October.
Rough plumbing was started and completed within a week along with rough electrical which took about two days.
Building was insulated as soon as rough ins were completed which took one day.  Drywall followed right after the insulation was done.  Drywall was completed around Halloween.
Initial painting took about a week and then floor installed.  This was completed by Thanksgiving.
Finished plumbing and electrical completed around 1st of December.
Touch up painting and hvac were completed by 2nd week of December.

Daughter and grandkids moved in new tiny house December 23.  Merry Christmas.
Darrell time line is impeccable.

"After our first contractor left us high and dry, our friends recommended Angie's List.  She told us about how the providers who belong to Angie's List are responsible and professional, so we asked her to give us a name of a handyman and construction service. That is when we were introduced to Walls Construction and Handyman Service.  We contacted them last Friday and their receptionist was very responsive and professional and made us feel at ease and asked if she could send over their field rep that evening due to our circumstance.  Their field rep came over Friday evening after work hours to look at what we needed done and was very professional too.  They allowed us to use our tile we had already purchased.   They showed up Monday morning Oct 8 at 9 AM as promised and completed the job beyond my expectations.  We will be booking future work with them to complete some other projects we have long been waiting for.  Thanks Angie's List. What a great service and thanks Walls Construction and Handy man service. A happy wife is a happy house :)"

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on damage size, labor rates, and whether additional services like painting are required.

You should wait at least 24 hours for drywall mud to dry before sanding or applying another coat. However, the exact drying time depends on several factors, including the thickness of the application, room temperature, humidity, and the type of compound used. Thicker layers, or projects in high humidity, may require 48 hours or more. Lightweight compounds tend to dry faster than heavier, all-purpose ones. You'll know the mud is ready when it feels completely dry and firm to the touch and has changed to a consistent light color. Sanding too early can cause smudging or gouges, so patience is essential for a smooth finish.

It’s not a good idea to plaster over broken plaster (unless by broken you’re referring to cracked, in which case that’s perfectly fine). However, broken plaster can be a sign of a larger underlying issue like foundation damage or severe damage to the lath holding up the plaster, so it’s worth investigating before you simply plaster on top of the damage.

There are a handful of reasons why your drywall anchors are breaking. Using the wrong type of anchor is the most common problem, so always make sure you’re using the best option for a particular project. That there are electrical wires or plumbing where you’ve placed an anchor or that your drywall is weak are two other possible causes.

While a normal moisture level for drywall is between 5% and 12%, replacement is recommended if you get consistent readings above 17%. At this level, the drywall is likely too compromised by extensive moisture damage to be considered safe. You can replace either the entire sheet or just the affected section. If you are unsure after a visual inspection, it is best to have a contractor or water restoration provider use a professional moisture meter to get an accurate reading.
