"Great experience! They painted my whole house: walls, ceilings, door and trim, prepped by caulking where needed and patched some damaged areas. Very professional and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves every day and worked around my schedule. Will definitely hire again when it is time to paint the outside!"

"Power Clean Pros provided an outstanding service when I needed my outdoor deck cleaned. After providing a simply photo of the deck, I promptly received a quote for the work service. The cleaning was performed very fast but efficient. Paul from Power Clean Pros was very professional and friendly. I highly recommend using Power Clean Pro for any future pressure washing projects.

"Excellent work! At least 1/3 of my roof on the north side had a great deal of moss on it. On much of the rest of the roof there were small amounts of moss along the bottom edge of shingles, and there were patches in scattered places on the main part of the shingles. After Hector and his son cleaned the roof, it looked brand new. They removed plants and furniture from our deck before the job and replaced them after the job. They even did a light washing of the vinyl siding of the house, which was outside the agreed-upon scope of work, but they did not charge me for it. As a former member of a site safety office in a then-Fortune 50 company, I was particularly impressed with the excellent precautions they took to insure their safety on the roof during the job. Hector’s 27+ years of experience was evident in every aspect of the job. I plan to bring him back in a year for annual maintenance. I definitely recommend No More Dirty Roofs to any home owner needing roof cleaning."

"It was ok. They cleaned the house and the roof. I had some significant staining in the grass at my home from the chemical they used to clean the home. I can't explain why it didn't happen at all on the rental property. The price for their cleaning of the roof was extremely high, but the house cleaning was on the lower end. It worked out in the end."

"Excellent all around. Originally called for clearing leaves and debris off roof, Mr Rice appropriately suggested brick washing to remove moss and dirt from stairs and walkway. I was stunned when I drove in that night. Had to stop my car in amazement at the gleam of the cleaned brick walkway and stairs. He later suggested deck cleaning and, again, simply amazing results."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are more pros than cons when staining a deck. Deck stain is more affordable than paint, it protects the wood and allows the natural textures to shine through, and it can revive the appearance of your home. However, deck stain also requires prep work (sometimes days or more), carries more upkeep than a painted deck, and can fade over time if not cared for.

To maximize the utility of space under a deck, it’s important to keep this area dry and clean. One way to prevent the area from becoming too wet is to install an under-deck draining system. This affordable home upgrade channels water away from the deck and provides usable space for storage or a functional area below a second-story deck. Not only will this be a useful maintenance upgrade, it can boost your home’s property value.

Space deck handrail posts four to six feet apart. If the posts are more than six feet apart, the railing will be less able to withstand lateral forces and is more susceptible to breaking. Additionally, railing posts that are more than six feet apart may not be up to code, and you may face fines and be required to reinstall the posts to bring them up to code.

There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.

That depends on the condition of your deck. An older deck that looks drab, worn, or has multiple damaged boards might be worth replacing before selling. However, if your deck is in good condition, you can simply clean, repaint, or stain it.
