"This worked out great. Richard followed up on my request right away and set up an appountment for the following day. He said to buy the locks I want (he made some brand recommmendations) and he would work with whatever choices I wanted. When he arrived I actually had additional locks I was hoping to install, along with a keypad lock and he not only had no problem with the change in plans but took the time to explain everything he was doing and why (some damage to the doors required a change of plans). He took his time, listened to my requests and did great work. Overall this was fast, friendly service and I felt his price was very fair. Would 100% use Richard again without hesitation."

"Install was easy. Up front cost was pretty low with Angie's List coupon. Monthly price is a little high compared to competing companies. Response time with alarms is excellent. I was advised to use glass break alarms within 10 ft of my first floor windows, which we installed correctly. I asked prior to installation if having one in the kitchen would cause false alarms due to dishes clanging, etc. I was told the glass break alarms are configured to a precise frequency that alarms with breaking glass. So, not a "no", but not really an answer. Well, every time we cook dinner, wash dishes or empty the dish washer, the kitchen glass break alarm gives a warning which would sound the alarm if it was set. This has caused us a number of false alarms while we've been away due to shifting bowls or plates in our drying rack. For the first several we've had to pay our police department $120 to check the house, and I was only notified after the first alarm that there was a cheaper option for a security company to drive by to check for a break in."

"I recently had 1st Security install a system in my new house and so far have been very pleased with all aspects of the system, from the initial estimate to the installation to the functioning of the system itself. Jeremy did our initial estimate and provided us with a thorough explanation of the system. I already had done a significant amount of research comparing Alarm.com to ADT and some of the self-install options, but Jeremy was able to provide even more information and help me to understand better the pros and cons of each approach. Larry did our installation and also was very friendly and knowledgeable, explaining each step of the installation process and providing me with a tutorial at the end. My wife and I have had no issues with the system so far. It is very intuitive, and we have been able to customize it to fit our unique needs. "The job went very smoothly. The tech ran a bit late, but he called to say so. He installed a keypad by the front door and assessed the house for security. He suggested, since there are several casement windows in the living room and adjoining dining room that a breaking glass sensor would work better and be more cost-effective than alarming all the windows. He did alarm a door that the previous company (inherited when we bought the house twenty-three years ago) had not considered significant. I feel safer with the current sensor choices than the ones I had before.
He took the time to make sure I knew how to use the system, so I am very pleased with the service. My one caveat: I was told that the motion sensor would not register my smaller pets (two cats) because they weigh under forty pounds. They must have set off the sensor, though, because the police responded. The system certainly alerts the authorities, but that motion sensor is very sensitive!

"We like their service. We haven't had any problems. They are very good. This was the first time we've had an alarm/security system in our home. The supplier is ADT. I like that I can set my alarm every night before I go to bed."

"First the good:
The up front cost cant be beat since all of the sensors and control panel were no cost to cover 20 doors and windows.  Installation was pretty straight forward and the phone reps were fairly knowledgeable and professional.  I added a couple features like an extra key pad, siren and glass break sensors that cost aprox $350.  The extras were a little pricey but compared to the $2000 another provided quoted, it was still a deal.
The control panel is cellular based so cutting your phone lines will not effect the alarm.
Now the not so good:
The quality of the sensors has not been very good.  I have had 2 DOA when the packages arrived new and 2 failed within several days.  When I contacted Protect America they were very nice about sending me new ones, but it took weeks and a couple calls before I saw the first replacements.  The second set of replacements that arrived for the failed units ended up being the wrong sensors.  Their shipping department does not seem to have good quality control.  The next very annoying element is the wait time on the phone when you are trying to get anything set up.  I spent a couple hours on hold working through the set up the first time and at least an hour the second time when I installed the replacement sensors.
Some cautions; make sure you hide the main control panel because if an intruder disables it before the alarm has sounded for 60 seconds, the police may not be notified.  Also they only call to check if everything is ok if the alarm is not canceled for 60 seconds.  So you can not be sure if the signal is getting through.
Monthly monitoring fee is high, but since the system was intially free, even after 3 years it is still the cheaper route.
Now that I have the equipment, once our contract is expired I will find a different alarm provider that responds to every alarm.

"Alan and his crew did a fantastic job.  The retaining wall next to my house was damaged due to a vehicle collision.  Alan came out to my house a few days after we initially talked on the phone and gave me a very fair estimate for the repairs I wanted done.  We agreed on a start date and Alan and his crew arrived on time as discussed and began the work.  His team was able to complete the job in approximately 3 days.  Throughout the process, Alan kept me updated in the evenings on progress of the job. 



What impressed me the most about Alan and his crew was the attention to detail and ability to make the new section of the retaining wall built by his team blend so seamlessly with the undamaged, old area of the wall.  The quality of his team's work is outstanding!  In addition, while on the job, Alan noticed that some of the mortar joints in the brick staircase leading up to my front door / porch next to the retaining wall needed to be repaired.  His team repaired these areas of my staircase at no extra charge.  He also had his team do an additional course on the side of my house when he noticed that it was needed at no extra charge (a total of seven courses were completed!).



 I'd highly recommend A&W Masonry and Restoration and will be using them again in the future for projects I have planned.

"George came to our aide when the contractor we had hired to do our plumbing and drywall walked off the job leaving us stranded in the middle of a addition. He saw the poor work that had been done and promised that when he was finished we would love our new home. He was very compassionate about our plight and handled everything with a professional attitude. His workers were timely and always cleaned up behind themselves.

Bottom line is that George made a lot of promises regarding all the work that we had lined up for him and he not only delivered, but he exceeded our expectations. From the grunt work things like adding a deck to our front porch and finishing drywall to creating an artistic double garage door that was started on a piece of paper. George's crew is not just able to do the basic simple work but can do more of the artistic work as well. We are going to use him to tile our master bath shower build a deck and complete additional work in a rental periphery. Nobody else will touch our property except George and because of his professionalism we now consider him a friend of our family. Thank George and crew!
