"Both estimators and workers were courteous and professional. Communication with the office was easy. They were punctual with appointments and stayed on schedule."
"Steve and John were phenomenal. Well, first of all, I had only bought the dryer vent cleaning/Dominion energy audit. Then yesterday, my heat stopped working (coldest day yet this fall :-( When I called about the thermostat, Kenneth recognized my name and we were able to fit both calls into today's and get me back my heat! Thanks, Kenneth. So, when John and Steve showed up, they were all ready to go. Explained everything to me. Then they got to work. I had to leave, but they stayed in touch with me. End of the day, my former heating/cooling service appears to have been doing a very shoddy job these past 6 years, including the original set up of the new heat pump system (poor insulation, exposed wires) and the duct work. I have great confidence in what John and Steve showed me. I will be changing my yearly maintenance contract over to ACHAC once this year's contract with the other service expires. I'm sold on the quality of this service! "
"Well we were going to do a ground mount using re-purposed metal, but there was not enough of it. So Renewable Engineered Systems designed a system for the roof of the house. We Worked with Brian Brown who helped us decide what to use. The solar panel system is very neat. Get to watch my power everyday.

"They arrived when they said they would and performed the work in a timely and professional manner. I only had one small issue with the outside temperature reading on the thermostat which they corrected within 24 hours. They also filled out and sent me all of the paper work required for my rebates. Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts
After you receive your audit and report, review the findings and determine which of the prescribed changes you want to make to improve your home’s energy efficiency. Start by contacting the type of professionals recommended by the auditor who can help you remedy the issues discovered during the audit. Prioritize the projects by urgency, importance, and budget. Then, gather estimates from several professionals, remembering to verify any necessary licensing and experience information.
Leaving vents open but closing doors in unused rooms will probably not save money on your energy bill. Closed doors prevent the natural flow of air throughout the home, which could reduce the efficiency of the overall HVAC system. They could also restrict airflow into and through the return vents, making the HVAC system less efficient.
To find a reputable home energy auditor, start by researching local companies that offer the service and check their reviews, methods, and certifications. The most reputable professionals are often Home Energy Professional (HEP)-certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI). You can also consult the Department of Energy’s certified list of energy auditors or use a state licensing tool to review local guidelines and ensure you are hiring a certified professional for your area.
An average, 400-square-foot electric heated driveways consume approximately $3 per hour in terms of electricity. The price may slightly fluctuate depending on your local energy cost. A simple formula to calculate your heated driveway’s total wattage consumption is by multiplying the square footage by 50 watts and then dividing it by 1,000 to get the kilowatt number. Multiply that with your local energy cost per hour and there you have the hourly operating cost.
R-value measures an insulation material's thermal resistance, indicating its ability to resist heat transfer. A higher R-value signifies better insulation performance because the material is more effective at slowing heat flow. The R-value depends on the type, thickness, and density of the insulation material, such as fiberglass, foam, or cellulose. Each inch of insulation typically provides an R-value between 3 and 8. There is no single universal R-value; the optimal choice depends on your climate zone. Colder climates require a much higher R-value than warmer ones to maintain energy efficiency, keep the home warm in winter and cool in summer, and manage costs.
