"Bedford drilled a new well for me about a year and half ago, the only positives i can say is i do have water and the new lady in the office actually now answers the phone or responds to you. Its the craziest thing, the phone rings and she actually picks it up and talks to you. Its crazy. The first year you could only reach them by email or text, no one answered the phone. You left a voicemail and they would decide whether or not to call you. I've spent a year and half trying to get them to correct sloppy hookup work they left me with. I think the problem was with the prior office staff dropping the ball, but i shouldn't have pay for someone elses incompetence. Since week one I notified them of an issue and was completely ignored for months. At first they were busy on other jobs, told me they would have one of the guys call me which never happened. Then months later they told me for them to come correct the issue i had pay a service fee and open ended labor costs for something that has been ongoing since the install. Basically give them a blank check again, nope ive been down that road with them before. Service fees and labor fees should be charged for something that was beyond their control, not for sloppy workmanship. I had to spend months on a waiting list and ipaid almost $16k. The sad thing is both are probably simple fixes for them. Hire anyone else but them for the hookup, Catron, Sublette, Walkers, anyone else but Bedford for the hookup. Maybe the owner will respond to me directly when he reads this, not leave me dealing with an in-between person, honestly by now he should have called me personally. He has my number"

"I called this company bc it had good reviews & affordable price . They robed me I had a pump that need replaced cost would have been 600.00 total . Worker put new wire in & put through the pipe I had existing to the well . I asked if I pay cash can I get a discount ? I had lost my job 2 weeks ago from restructuring . I have no income coming in . After I was told $2600.00 I gave the worker $1300. Cash & he left for over 4 hours before showing up with the new parts. I called the owner again & explained to him my position I couldn’t help but cry & quote he tells me I got you . I thought ok he will give me some discount . NOT one penny did he go down . I had a total bill of $2600.00 . Wow glad he had my back ?! It would have been 4000.00 . I’ve talked to one’s professional in this business he actually raped me for what little was done & the price he got from me . Please beware women or anyone this company is rip off ! No one call him for any work . He deserves what he gets from being a liar & over charging . I have lots of friends & I will be telling all I know to tell all they know about this owner ."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

The disadvantages of having a well include more maintenance, like annual testing and inspections, and high up-front costs to drill a well. Well water is also vulnerable to contamination, which is why keeping up with testing is important if you own a well. When it comes to well water versus city water, well water does offer more independence and is a reliable water source.

The cost to drill a well varies, but the national average is around $5,500 for a 150-foot well. However, prices can vary significantly based on location, well depth, and other factors, so it's best to research potential fees to get a more accurate cost assessment for your area.

Another common question is, what pressure should your well tank be set at? The standard rule of thumb is to set your well tank’s pressure at 2 psi below the cut-on point of your pressure switch. So if your well is set up for a high cycle of 40/60 psi, your pressure should be set to 38 psi. If you use a low setting of 30/50 psi, you would set the pressure to 28 psi.

If the well pump is more than 10 years old, it's worth contacting a well pump repair pro near you and weighing the cost of repairs against buying a new well pump. Pumps can last a long time with regular maintenance, but if your pump is nearing the 10-year mark and starts needing repairs frequently, it’s time to replace it.

Servicing includes cleaning filters and coils, checking coolant levels, and inspecting electrical connections.
