It went well.  Easy job with the right tool.  Charged me $235, which was excessive.  Got the locksmiths in for 30 minutes to rekey the locks and he charged me $78 for the service.  Cannot justify a factor of three difference.  I will not use them anymore.

Roto-Rooter has come to our aid three or four times and they are expensive but they are extremely dependable.  They are very professional and well trained and they know what they are doing. I have no other local person in this county that I would recommend for pluming. He took about hour and half to do the whole thing correctly and it will work for probably the next years. They are well trained and certified. We called and they guy came and checked it out on a Sunday evening.
They are about 35 miles from us. In the past they have replaced galvanized pipe for us. when we had the addition put on we had a fire place in the basement of the older house I wanted gas and someone told us that there was no way we could get that done. When Roto-Rooter was here doing plumbing I said something to the man about it when he was in the basement working and he said it sure can be done and he explained how to do it.  Roto-Rooter set up a beautiful gas fire place for us in the basement.

Fast and easy.  And they explained the process and our septic tank system to us as they did their work.

A section of my drain field was clogged, causing water from the septic system to accumulate on the surface of the ground in one area.  Sewage odor was evident often, and the ground stayed wet.
I called another company months earlier because of the problem.  They pumped the septic tank and checked the distribution box, but did not locate any problem.  The problem returned and persisted, resulting in my contacting Rotor Rooter.
RR personnel arrived as scheduled.  Within the hour they had diagnosed the problem - clogged drain field.  The called for extra specialized equipment needed to fix the problem and, once it arrived, proceeded to unclog all of my drain field lines (3).  They also pumped the septic tank, and showed me where the previous company did not clean it out properly.
My septic system is working as it should.  Rotor Rooter personnel were prompt, courteous, and professional.

The appointment was scheduled quite easily on-line and a call was made to Roto-rooter to confirm that the work to be done was at my son's house, not my own, and also a bit more information was given as to the nature of the problem, which was a clogged outside drain and an inside floor drain.  The appointment time was scheduled for the window of 2-4:00 pm two days ahead.  My husband was at my son's house by 1:30 so that he would not miss the appointment.  When no one had showed and no  one had called, at 4:01 I called Roto-rooter to find out where the technician was and was told that he was in the subdivision and had just called the office to get the address.  When the tech got out of his truck, he commented that he had been to this location two years before for the same issue and that the lady present at that time said that a big hole had been dug when the propane tank was inserted into the ground. Apparently that severed the drain pipe. But the tech did run the snake down the line to show my husband that the snake only went a short distance before it hit the tank.  He did offer to work up an estimate to dig up the front yard and replace the drain line.  The two technicians were at the house less than 10 minutes because my husband called me before  4:15 to say that they had already left.

Although we expected a bill, we never expected $128.00 for the short amount of time that was spent at the house for an issue that the company had responded to two years before.  During a call to Roto-rooter about the bill, we were then told that the minimum to come to the house was $128 and if it had been longer than a half hour the bill would have jumped to $250.00. Had we been told this to start with, we would not have gone with them.  This was not a good experience in that we weren't told that there was minimum charge, there were no calls to let us know that the technicians were running late, and several calls to the office that afternoon during the appointment window went unanswered.  I would never recommend Roto-rooter to anyone..
