"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

Hey i’m Jadon, i’ve been doing electrical work for 5 years and love getting new experience and perfecting my craft. I specialize in small commercial and residential, but I also have years experience in big commercial and industrial. I am employed with an electrical company, but like getting more experience with side work. I’ve worked all around NC and I live near Greensboro, so I don’t mind traveling an hour or 2 out. I work on panels, and put them in/wire them, underground, receptacles and lights, home appliances, remodels, electrical demo, and much more. I take pride in my work and always want my customers happy. I would never accept a job I don’t believe I could finish to my absolute best ability. Thank you and I look forward to doing great work for you!

"Craig Collins, the owner, came over to meet with both my husband and me. We told Craig generally what we were looking for and he listened carefully. He described to us in a very upbeat manner his creative vision that would accomplish what we wanted for our lighting. He carefully explained the creative thought process and design elements that were important. My husband and I could see Craig's passion for his work and that he was an artist. We were very excited about his ideas and readily and happily agreed to his proposal. Additionally, we felt that his price that he quoted us was very reasonable. On the date promised, Craig's son, Craig Jr., who works with his father (which I also liked), came to our home to look at all the electrical requirements. My husband and I were extremely impressed when both Craig Sr. and Jr. returned a few days later to begin work, in pretty cold weather (it was the dead of winter). Craig is very professional and has a good old fashioned work ethic, and wanted to make his customers happy. Those qualities are pretty hard to find these days, and so we were very appreciative and really enjoyed working with Craig. The gorgeous end result makes us feel 100% enthusiastic to highly recommend Craig Collins and his company Landscape Lighting Designers Plus. His work and customer service are worth every penny. P.S. Our neighbours commented immediately on how beautiful our home looked all lit up!

"Excellent! I worked with Live Electric before and didn't hesitate to call them for this project. The timing throughout the project was tricky because we/he had to coordinate with the construction contractor and Live Elect. had to come out several times at different points during the job. Anthony and his team were extremely accommodating and worked very well with the bath contractor to plan and complete the work within the project timelines. Before and during the project, Anthony took the time to help design the lighting plan which ended up being more complex than I thought it would. He even came by with a portable power station to power up the light fixtures I had bought to help me understand/visualize the amount of light we needed in the finished bathroom. He saved us a lot of money and trouble! For example, I thought we needed and quot;layers of lightand quot;/recessed lighting in addition to vanity lights -- he advised that the recessed lights were not necessary and might even cause and quot;shadowsand quot; (and he was right!). The original fixtures I bought ended up not being enough light over the vanity and I would have been very disappointed in the end, but because he took the time to walk through the lighting with me, we switched the fixtures around and adjusted their placement and now they are perfect and we are very pleased with the overall lighting in the bath.
Live electric took the time to cover their path with drop cloths (stairs, hallways, entry to attic, etc.) and so didn't leave a spec of dirt behind. They took all the trash away. Also, they didn't leave any damage to the new drywall (which is unusual) and so all the lighting and fans look great, placement is perfect and very professional. The lighting provided the finishing touch on our beautiful bathroom and I have Live Electric to thank for it.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

An AC disconnect, also known as a switch box or fuse box, is a safety switch that allows the AC’s electrical supply to be turned off from the outside, usually done by a mechanical contractor coming to work on your unit. The box is protected from the weather by a cover or may be designed as a pull-out unit. Your local code determines where the AC disconnect must be mounted, but it's usually close to your outdoor AC unit.

An electrician will charge between $100 to $150 to install a new light switch. Whether you need to cut into the wall and repair drywall will determine your final project cost, as you can expect to pay $50 to $75 per square foot to repair drywall.

Yes, you can connect two extra outlets (or more) to one outlet if the total load on the circuit allows for it. If you have a 15-amp circuit, electrical code allows up to eight outlets or light switches. But if you’re dealing with outlets in the kitchen and bathroom, you may not be able to have as many. Kitchen and bathroom appliances often need higher amperage. You can also change a single outlet to a double outlet by cutting a larger hole in the drywall and replacing the outlet with a quad receptacle.

Natural gas and electricity rates vary significantly based on location, and pricing can change over time, too. It’s possible that in locations where natural gas is particularly inexpensive, it will cost less than grid-based electricity will. However, you should also factor in the generator’s initial costs and maintenance needs, as well as its noise level and if it can comfortably power all your home appliances.

You shouldn’t hook up a solar panel directly to a battery. That can damage the solar battery and your appliances over time. Instead, install a charge controller between your solar panel and solar battery. Charge controllers regulate voltage, prevent overcharging, and minimize the amount of electrical current to protect your battery from voltage spikes.
