"Professional and Courteous!!!!! Chris is a person that cares about MY house and MY opinions. I also had Chris install a new furnace. He gave me several options for the new heat pump. That gave me enough information to easily make an educated decision on what my needs where."

"Mr. Baxter explained what I would need, why one style was better than another, and what brand he recommended. I purchased the locks and door knobs myself at Lowe's. He explained what he was doing and did a good job getting everything installed. His price was a little less than other quotes I had gotten and he gave an Angie's list discount. My only issue was that I would have hoped he would have cleaned up the debris and dust more."

"I contacted Ferguson Home Improvements to come out and help me get my house ready for sale.  The owner was fabulous and had a very attention to detail approach to fixing the walls and nail pops in the ceilings.  They left the house in pristine condition and everything looked brand new, it made me think twice about wanting to sell the house now that it is in such perfect condition.  He also hung some ceiling fans to replace the old ones.  When I move into my new home I will have Ferguson Home Improvements back to help me with my new projects what ever they are.  They are by far the best home improvement company I have ever dealt with.

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

If your ceiling fan is humming, that's usually a sign of an electrical issue. A low-pitched grinding sound could be caused by the motor or a lack of lubrication in the bearings, but a true humming sound will be caused by a failing capacitor or faulty wiring. Unless you have experience with electrical issues, you should call a pro for any ceiling humming noises.

If you think your fan needs to be oiled, the first thing that you have to do is cut the power to the fan. The best and safest way to do this is by flipping the circuit breaker that leads to that room.  Depending on the model of your fan, you may need to remove a cover. Look for a hole labeled oil. If there isn't one, check the manual or look for schematics online. Once located, use the recommended lubricant or spray.

It depends on your budget and cooling needs. Whole-house fans keep your home breezy by pulling in cool air and pushing out hot air. In places with milder climates, they can replace air conditioning. On the other hand, Attic fans focus on keeping your attic cool—not your entire house. Often, whole-house fans cost more than attic fans, with installation ranging from $600 to $3,600.

For a 12x12 room, a fan between 36" and 50" will work, as it falls in the range for spaces up to 144 square feet. These size fans provide adequate air circulation and ensure a comfortable environment without being overpowering. Even better, they come in a broad range of styles, offering aesthetics and functionality, making them suitable choices for maintaining an ideal room temperature and enhancing overall comfort.

Yes, you can lubricate a ceiling fan without taking it apart. Ensure the fan is off and clean any dust around the motor area before lubricating. Apply several drops of machine oil to the top of the motor housing where the shaft enters or via the oil ports if available. Regular lubrication helps maintain smooth operation and reduces noise. If your fan lacks an accessible oil port, it may require disassembly or professional maintenance.
