"Above and beyond! Freedom pulled out every stop to source me a new ECOER unit when my HVAC failed; the least of which was driving to another state to pick one up and installing over night so I could escape 90 degree days as quickly as possible. They found ways to help beyond just repairing the unit as well - they changed my filter and even offering to carry a heavy package from the front doorstep to the back patio. They left the house in the same condition they found it, cleaned up their debris, utilized booties and tarps to keep the home safe as they worked. Thoughtful, mindful, honest and efficient. If you’re looking for HVAC guys give them all call - cannot recommend them more!"

"They were pleasant and efficient from scheduling to repair. The technician knew his trade, and he worked diligently to diagnose the problem, provide us an estimate of what the repair would cost, and then make the repair and check it out to be certain it was working properly. We were entirely satisfied with the Company."

"I was impressed with the quality of the work performed by ð ¼-1 ð ¿ð ªð ð © ð ¾ð ¡ð ð ð £ð ð £ð ð ð ð §ð «ð ð ð ð ¨ in both cleaning the HVAC and dryer ducts. As a former Army Contracting Officer's Representative, what impressed me most was the work ethic displayed by Kieth. He worked until the job was done, even staying until after 1:00 AM to make sure the work was finished correctly. I would not hesitate to hire him again."

"The owner came out and fixed the problem himself, which ended up being a bad thermostat, not an issue with the HVAC system itself. He did look at the system, both the furnace and ac units, to make sure they were in good shape. He only charged me for the service fee, $168, and installed a new thermostat so I can use the system until I get another like the one I had. He was very efficient, got the job done quickly, and never tried to upcharge me on items or services I didn't need. Very impressed, and I will definitely use this business in the future!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

You should flush your AC drain line once every three months to keep it clear of debris and buildup. Keeping your AC drain line clean prevents clogs, backups, mold growth, and extra wear on your AC unit. If you live in a humid area or have several furry pets, up your cleaning schedule to once a month.

ACs don't run on water. They're not connected to drain pipes or any part of your plumbing system. However, they need refrigerant to run. Refrigerant is a gas or liquid that has a low boiling point and absorbs the heat in your home. ACs need this in order to be functional and cool your home. If you suspect your AC is low on refrigerant, you need to contact a licensed HVAC professional. Refrigerant is a dangerous chemical that requires specialized training and permits to work with.

Unfreezing an AC unit is not a DIY project unless the problem is a dirty air filter. Changing out an air filter is easy for homeowners, but otherwise, trying to repair ductwork, refill refrigerant, or replace a blower fan motor are tasks best left to the pros. Otherwise, you could cause further damage to your cooling system or even harm to yourself.

The difference between a home surge protector and an HVAC surge protector is that an HVAC surge protector is designed to protect the components inside your HVAC unit while a home surge protector is installed near appliances and meant to protect your entire home. There are three tiers of whole-house surge protectors, and they are more expensive to install than HVAC surge protectors.

There are many recognizable symptoms of AC compressor failure. They include loud banging noises, hot air being continually circulated in your home despite running the AC at full blast, uneven airflow and cooling, and electrical issues like constant surges due to the compressor working overtime. While some of these symptoms, like uneven cooling, can have other root causes, they are common indicators of compressor problems.
