"Yes,Roger Heating and Cooling did a excellent job.Not only did they install new heat pump and new furnace,.Men were courtesy and polite, showed respect for my home by wearing covers over their shoes. They explain the process of what they had to due. They answered any questions I had about installation. I had no idea that the process would be so smooth. I truly appreciate this company, from first day that representative came out. Too look at what need to be done to replace my systems. Thank them for email follow-up until day came to installation, and email after job was completed. "We are so glad to have found this company! Specifically, AnTori Brown provided excellent, prompt, professional service. He went above and beyond by locating a hard-to-find air handler to repair our AC the next day. Throughout, he maintained communication in a professional and very respectful manner. He didn't upsell or falsely claim we needed unnecessary repairs or equipment, and pricing was very reasonable. There ARE still honest, hardworking professionals out there! We definitely recommend him and will use Strategic Heating and Air for future HVAC needs."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Set your house temperature between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit while on vacation, depending on the season. If it’s winter, don’t go below 55 degrees. In the summer, the best AC temperature for energy savings is no higher than 85 degrees. You can save anywhere from 10% to 15% on your energy costs by adjusting the temperature while you’re away. If you have a smart thermostat, set up vacation modes for each season. On your way home, turn off vacation mode to allow the home to warm up or cool down before you arrive.

No. Your furnace does not run your air conditioner. Both units use the same system of ductwork to move conditioned air throughout your home, but you can have a furnace without having an air conditioner and vice versa. Furnaces are only for heating your home. You can buy a system that does both, however, like a split system or a heat pump (yes, heat pumps cool, too).

There are several common types of HVAC systems that you may have, including split systems, hybrid HVAC, duct-free systems, packaged heating and air, geothermal heating, or even portable units for heating or cooling. If you aren’t sure which type is in your home or are looking to install something different, you should consult an HVAC pro to determine which option is right for your heating and cooling needs.

In most cases, you should hire a professional to carry out services on your HVAC system, as the components are complicated, expensive, and potentially dangerous to work with. However, there are a few things you can do on your own to keep your HVAC system in good condition, including changing your filters every three months, keeping the area around your outdoor condenser clear of debris and plant growth, making sure your or intakes aren’t blocked, and keeping an eye out for increased energy bills, strange noises, and unusual odors related to your equipment.

A new HVAC system combines components to control indoor temperature and air quality. Features include a furnace or heat pump and an air conditioner or evaporator coil, depending on the climate requirements. It also involves a network of ductwork for air distribution, a thermostat for temperature regulation, and electrical connections. Air purifiers or humidifiers can be integrated to improve indoor air quality.
