Downside was that the quote looked low based on his basic labor charge, and he added material and repair afterward. That made the price 2.5x the quoted price, which gave me some sticker shock. "Repairs to my existing deck. New floor, and railing tops. Two joints where the railings met were not cut correctly and he put caulking which shrunk within a week leaving gaps. The small gate he said he could make does not quite fit and workmanship was not the best. And overpriced."
