"Purchased the Angie's deal coupon for $250 for full HVAC cleaning and all vents and returns.  During cleaning they found some black mold and recommended deep cleaning for additional $250.  They showed us pics of where the mold and other dirty stuff was and we decided to have them clean it since I doubt duct cleaning was ever performed for this house.  We were satisfied with the result.  The cleaner was prompt and explained everything in detail.  We were satisfied with the service.

"After having hosted an 80 person reunion, my house was very dirty and every pot, pan, skillet, platter, floor and surface needed to be cleaned. Gilma Alvarez did an excellent and thorough job cleaning my home from top to bottom. My floors are glistening, surfaces, ceilings clean and my home smells nice. I found Gilma to be a very kind, thoughtful person. She took initiative and is a hard worker and excellent cleaner. I highly recommend Gilma Alvarez’s House Cleaning."

"Lilly’s employees are wonderful! My house always smells so clean when I get home! There was only one time where I felt that something could have been cleaned better, and Lilly, the owner, was very responsive to my complaint. She is wonderful to work with! I have had several of her employees clean, and they are all very methodical and thorough. I highly recommend this company!!"

Small jobs welcome

"We requested a deep clean and received a good, though typical, clean. We do not fault the actual cleaners rather difference in opinion as to what a deep clean is. When we say deep clean, we mean cleaning things that are not normally cleaned in a routine cleaning like vents and baseboard and window ledges. But overall, if you’re looking for a good routine cleaning, I would recommend."

"I purchased the Angie's List deal for having our whole house air ducts cleaned and sanitized for $199. Our vents were very dirty having undergone two major house renovations. Because of how our vents are set up, our technician Val told us that they would be very hard to clean (we living in a 1959 rambler) and we might require multiple cleanings. As they were working, the weren't aware of the amount of dust that was being scattered throughout the house, again, due to the setup of our venting system. After he left, I needed to go throughout the house and clean the thing layer of dust that had settled on all surfaces. Val felt awful and apologized multiple times and you could tell that he was being sincere. He did recommend that we use an anti-bacteria and fumigation treatment because of mold he found in the vents (which he showed us pictures of) and had recommended purchasing a UV lamp to stop the growth of mold in the future. We opted to forgo the UV lamp, but purchase the additional cleaning options, which should have cost $275. It was clear that Val felt bad about the dust in the house because after we agreed to the additional cleaning, he dropped the price to $175 and also cleaned our dryer vent for free."

"I  have been putting off writing this review because I do  not like to write negative information. After much thought I decided that it was most important to share experience honestly.
I purchased the $199 home cleaning plus refrigerator and oven clean deal. I am not  happy with the  company's customer service.
The owner charged me $100 extra at the end of the visit.  My concerns:
1. The ladies did not speak English at all.
2.The team took quite a long time to complete the work, in spite of the reduced number of areas to clean. The cleaners were told to clean only the family room, kitchen, breakfast nook, 2 upstairs bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a powder room, vacuum the upstairs hall, the stairs and foyer, and to vacuum the master bedroom. They didn't have to clean the office or dining room or living room.
3. They did not change the sheets on the beds, they just remade them (I had had already put clean sheets on the beds, but not changing the sheets was never discussed with the cleaners).
4. In the kitchen they did not even LOAD THE DISHWASHER they just piled the dirty dishes in the sink.
5 No one from the company came to my home to check the quality of the services rendered after the job was done.
Once they were finished, one of the ladies asked for a check. I tried to clarify what was meant by "check" but we could not communicate effectively. She called the owner on her mobile phone, and they spoke for a long time, and the ladies seemed to be growing uncomfortable. I asked to speak to the owner directly.  When I asked the owner "One of the ladies mentioned a check. How much?" the owner said "One hundred dollars." Since the ladies seemed to be very uncomfortable  and I didn't want to put them in the middle of a conflict with the owner, I gave them a check for $100 and they left.  I later called and spoke with the owner and discussed the matter with her, reminding her that I had already paid and telling her that I didn't think a request by the ladies on site for an additional amount was warranted. She tried to justify overcharging me by saying that the ladies had to work more hours.  I told her that the ladies didn't even have to clean the whole house and that there was no reason for them to have taken so long. She seemed surprised by that.  She then tried to justify the overcharge by saying my home was too large. I told her that my home size was well within her square footage limit, especially given the reduced cleaning area. I told her that the ladies did not load the dishwasher and she said "We are not maids, we are cleaners. We don't do dishes."  Has anyone out there ever used a home cleaning service in which the cleaners do not load the dishwasher as part of clearing the kitchen surfaces???
In the end I told her that I felt that I felt that the dealings with me were less than honest and certainly not an example of good customer service. She agreed to "work out something like a discount" for the next time I used their services. It has now been several months and while I have been tempted to recall the company to get some value fromf my overpayment, I am reluctant to work with them again.  I suppose I will treat the experience with Best Cleaning as a "lesson learned."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Flat roofs are a solid option for people who want extra outdoor space. Flat roofs are very common in other parts of the world and only recently has the U.S. started to see the benefit in the increased space. Flat roofs are also easier to maintain and pose much less of a safety risk, which allows for more DIY work for handy homeowners. Some people also build green or living roofs that grow plant life.

There are several telltale signs that your roof needs to be professionally cleaned. It's best to hire a professional as soon as you notice any indicators of wear to preserve your roof's longevity. Key signs to look for include:

  • Moss, Algae, or Plant Growth: Look for moss growth, black streaks (which are often a type of black algae), or any other plant life on your roof's surface.

  • Dirt and Grime Buildup: A general layer of dirt and grime can accumulate over time.

  • Leaf Buildup: An accumulation of leaves, especially in the gutters, is a clear sign.

  • Buildup Under Shingles: Dirt and debris can get trapped under the edges of your shingles.

  • Shifting Roof Shingles: While this can indicate other problems, it can also be a sign that cleaning and maintenance are overdue.

  • Comparison to Neighbors: If your roof appears significantly dirtier or different from your neighbors' roofs, that’s another sign it may be time for a cleaning.

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams, but the best thing to do is address insulation issues in your attic. If you do decide to remove the snow manually, you should always use a roof rake rather than a shovel. You shouldn’t climb your snowy roof in any circumstance, and roof rake allows you to remove the snow from the ground or a ladder. For the best results, remove snow as soon as possible after it falls.

The average cost to clean a roof is around $500, but prices can fall between $150 to $1,000 or more. The size and complexity of your roof are the most significant cost factors, as larger roofs and those with various bump-outs and gables will increase your cost. Your roof material will also make a difference. An asphalt roof will require more labor, as your professional will need to be careful not to damage the shingles. A metal roof can stand up to more intense scrubbing and shouldn’t take as long to clean.

If your home doesn't have gutters, you can still hang Christmas lights on the roof using specialized clips. Use roof clips designed to attach to shingles or fascia. For tile roofs or the edges of the rooftop, consider using parrot clips. Adhesive light-hanging clips are also a great option. It's important to avoid using nails or staples, as they can damage your roofing material. For unique or complex installations, it's best to consult a professional Christmas light installer to find the safest and most effective solution for your home.
