"I've used Best Homes in the past for smaller projects, but hired them to put a bar in my basement and all new flooring. Jeffry was very attentive to all of our needs through the design and build process. The team was able to answer questions when needed, and address questions/issues as they came up. I highly recommend Best Homes for your home remodeling needs!"

Not only he is friendly, very acknowledged with his professionalism of work, but for every County I have submitted his work have been approved with not much of questions or review of changes. Mr. Jimmy Guerrero with Dream home have been my saver and for my customers as well. I highly recommend his work and acknowledgements."

"

In order to minimize the costs of the project, I ordered and paid for all the bathroom accessories myself.  These included: all marble tiles, jetted tub, heater for tub, vanity, lighting, plumbing fixtures, mirror,  toilet and shower stall.   I purchased these items from Costco, Home Depot and Amazon.

Bottom line- Although it took a lot of my time to pick out and buy all the accessories, I was able to get the customized master bathroom that I always dreamed for about half the price a full service contractor would have charged me.

"The technician who came out to take measurements claimed that he was part of the design team for both this company. He also claimed he was a designer for the Devon Hill housing development in which I lived at that time, so he was familiar with houses and the kitchen cabinets. After he took the measurements, he promised he would send me a rendering of the design to my email, but I never received this design for a kitchen remodel. I tried to contact them at least once directly, but I could not speak with anyone in person. I left a voicemail that was never returned. Then I contacted Angie's List for assistance."

"Jose Sosa is great at tiling. He uses high quality materials and his understanding of plumbing & skill with tiling is outstanding. He worked on my guest bath 8 years ago and I have not had any issues since. I called him back for my master bath remodeling. Highly recommend him for any project involving tiles."

"I got them from Angie's List. They were great to work with in terms of interaction, but they were a little bit slower than I wanted them to be. The delays seemed to be caused by no planning. But they got done by my ultimate due date. The work was great and everybody was great to work with. I would use them again as long as it was a small scale project."

Architects questions, answered by experts

Cathedral ceilings make a statement in your home, but at the cost of your attic space. Normal attics are wide open, which allows warm air to move around and exit your home. Because of this, cathedral ceilings make your home less energy efficient and put your ceiling at risk of venting issues if you’re not careful. They also reduce your attic storage space, potentially cause an echo, and even make it harder to change a light bulb.

Start by researching local contractors with experience in cottage construction. Ask for references, check licensing and insurance, and review completed projects. Compare multiple bids, making sure each includes the same scope of work. A good contractor will communicate clearly, provide a detailed contract, and ensure all work meets code and safety standards.

It can take anywhere from a few days to several months to draw up architectural plans, depending on the complexity of your project. Architectural plans are highly detailed documents that take time to complete, and any changes or alterations can significantly extend how long they take.

In most cases, you should get an architect before you hire a builder. An architect will be the one to draw up formal plans for your project, including guidelines and even material lists for your builder to follow during construction. Many architects can even help you find builders, choose one for your project, and negotiate prices. Some are also willing to act as project managers throughout the process, working closely with a builder from start to finish.

An architect is usually involved in the process of determining the layout and structural features and requirements of the home itself, taking into account the local codes, climate, and materials needed to make the home structurally sound. Architects may communicate more with contractors and subcontractors throughout the building process. In comparison to architects, interior designers typically focus on the aesthetics of a home interior and possibly exterior, helping the homeowner decide on color schemes, textures, and materials to incorporate into the design.
