"I hired T&C Handyman Services to remove the moss from my homes roof and during their inspection, which was free, they were friendly and honest by telling me it would take a couple days to run the numbers. Then they contacted me the next day and asked me if I wanted them to remove the leaves from the gutters as the weather in Virginia was about to get bad. They didn't have to do that and it showed me the care and concern they have for their fellow Man and neighbors in our community. I recommend them highly and will continue to use their services."

"It went pretty good.  I purchased it at the beginning of this month but the work was done recently.  There was an additional cost apart from the $649 deal.  I had to pay additional lights.  One issue was, we talked about holiday colors and he did not have any of those.  They only have the standard white light bulbs."

"They never finished each project. They don't answer my calls for them to finish the jobs. Everyone was very nice, etc. I had bookshelves built that are unfinished. I had a shed repaired and reroofed and there is a gap between the roof and sidewall. They repaired the bottom of my deck but not substantially enough as the animals have broken through still. I asked them to put a 1x2 board along the bottom to give it strength and Justin thought it was good as it was. They painted my kitchen and there are ugly brush marks in areas that he said they would fix. Also they replaced the door on the shed and it is lopsided with a gap on top and bottom."

Matthew arrived at my home at 7:00 Am and did NOT stop working until this job was totally completed !!! BOTH of these men do NOT over charge you and they do NOT skimp on the job that they do because they charge you a more than fair price !!! and that's very hard to find and they have just enough (( professionalism )) I am sure this company will go to the top because of the G-R-E-A-T prices and workmanship provided !!! by ( Matthew ) and because of the GOOD choice made by ( Joshua ) to hire him !!!"

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

During the holidays, big box hardware stores sell many kinds of clips and hooks made specifically for hanging Christmas lights—including ridge clips, gutter clips, shingle clips, and mounted hooks. It’s best to avoid nails, staples, and screws since they can damage your roof.

Yes, you must use an extension cord specifically rated for outdoor use to power outdoor lights, such as Christmas lights. Extension cords intended for indoor use lack the protective properties to withstand exposure to outdoor elements. To safely hang and power lights outside your house or in your yard, always connect them to an outdoor power source using an outdoor-rated extension cord.

Good news, Christmas lovers: you can keep your lights up all year, provided you choose the type. It's critical that you choose holiday lights made for outdoor use, as these can withstand winter weather conditions. In addition, it's best to use LED lights instead of incandescent ones. LED bulbs can withstand temperature shifts and are energy efficient.

If you are considering leaving your holiday lights up year-round, ask your lighting installer about permanent installation. This project costs around $3,500 but gives you about six to 10 years of LED lights and adds a pleasing aesthetic to your home.

No one has figured out a perfect solution to this problem. Tying icicle lights down or adding weights to them can help, but it’s a very time-consuming process and far from foolproof. If your winters are too windy, we suggest simply switching away from icicle lights to straight runs of non-dangling lights along the edge of your roof.

Take a picture of your house to easily replicate the same design for next year and keep the clips and accessories. When storing your lights, wrap them around cardboard so they don’t get tangled. Purchase a ladderless extension pole kit to hang your lights (around $30 to $50) for hard to reach areas.
