"I hired T&C Handyman Services to remove the moss from my homes roof and during their inspection, which was free, they were friendly and honest by telling me it would take a couple days to run the numbers. Then they contacted me the next day and asked me if I wanted them to remove the leaves from the gutters as the weather in Virginia was about to get bad. They didn't have to do that and it showed me the care and concern they have for their fellow Man and neighbors in our community. I recommend them highly and will continue to use their services."

"Good result - came out day of the request to evaluate and quote. Took care of cleaning multi-tiered gutters within a week. Friendly demeanor and offered to evaluate other options on property where they could offer assistance. I would use them again."

"It went pretty good.  I purchased it at the beginning of this month but the work was done recently.  There was an additional cost apart from the $649 deal.  I had to pay additional lights.  One issue was, we talked about holiday colors and he did not have any of those.  They only have the standard white light bulbs."

"They never finished each project. They don't answer my calls for them to finish the jobs. Everyone was very nice, etc. I had bookshelves built that are unfinished. I had a shed repaired and reroofed and there is a gap between the roof and sidewall. They repaired the bottom of my deck but not substantially enough as the animals have broken through still. I asked them to put a 1x2 board along the bottom to give it strength and Justin thought it was good as it was. They painted my kitchen and there are ugly brush marks in areas that he said they would fix. Also they replaced the door on the shed and it is lopsided with a gap on top and bottom."

"( Joshua ) is an "ASSET" to his own Company and ( Matthew ) is also an "ASSET" to this Company !!! Matthew arrived at my home at 7:00 Am and did NOT stop working until this job was totally completed !!! BOTH of these men do NOT over charge you and they do NOT skimp on the job that they do because they charge you a more than fair price !!! and that's very hard to find and they have just enough (( professionalism )) I am sure this company will go to the top because of the G-R-E-A-T prices and workmanship provided !!! by ( Matthew ) and because of the GOOD choice made by ( Joshua ) to hire him !!!"

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Nails are a popular choice for hanging string lights, but they are not the only option. Use outdoor hooks, zip ties, or even awning hangers to string up lights outdoors. For indoor lights, use simple tacks, zip ties, damage-free adhesive hooks, or drawing pins. When all else fails, just wrap the lights around some furniture or outdoor fixtures.

When it comes to bang for your buck, LED lights are the clear winner for Christmas lights. While these will cost more upfront, they’ll last you for many holidays to come—far longer than your basic halogen bulbs. Along with that, they also save you big on energy costs throughout the season.

If you don’t have a ladder, you may be able to use a light-hanging pole. If not, you’ll have to rent a bucket lift or other machinery to reach your roof.

There are many types of Christmas lights to choose from when working with a light installer. The main types available for outdoor lighting are dome, LED, incandescent, and C9, and your lighting professional’s choice will depend on the location and overall design.

C9 lighting is typically the most expensive option, ranging from $15 to $70 per 25-foot strand. These usually have fewer bulbs per strand, so you might need more than expected to cover a large area. Dome lighting is usually the most cost-effective option, ranging from $6 to $15 per 25-foot strand. These bulbs are smaller and rounder than other options, creating a softer look.

No, you shouldn’t insert an LED light into an incandescent socket. It usually won’t fit anyway, but in the unlikely chance that it does, its electrical demands are too different for it to work properly.
