"Steve Overgard and his team replaced non functioning over sized windows in the house I bought that was partially renovated. These were 9x5 three panel picture windows over looking the water. The team measured, ordered custom windows, and installed them perfectly. They matched the paint color for the wide sill and frame. They completed all the finishing without any blue tags needed. I will use them again."

"We had 1970s brown cabinets and wanted them painted white (we chose "chalk white"). Matt provided a good price quote and it was evident he had done the work before and knew how to do the job properly. He and his worker Andrew sealed off the kitchen, carefully taped off the fan and appliances, took of the doors and drawers, sealed the wood knots so they wouldn't bleed through, sprayed the cabinets with a lacquer paint, sprayed the inside of the cabinets, painted the edge of our laminate counter tops, and reattached the factory-refinished cabinet doors with hardware we provided. We also had old-style brown trim that looked dated (but was in good condition). Matt painted this white as well to update the look. Because the cabinets looked so good, we had him paint the walls and ceiling as well (something I had planned on doing, but for a little more money than I'd spend doing it myself it saved a lot of time). We were very happy with the result and it feels like we have a brand new kitchen. Before and after pictures are attached."

"They did a great job. They were very attentive, detail oriented, they came in right away and they did everything that I asked them to do. They were communicative, they did the job very well and they have a reasonably price."

"Overall we had a good experience working with BLT kitchen and bath remodeling and their subcontractors Counter-vations. Our original consultant Rochelle went above and beyond from anyone else we interviewed before signing with this company. She spent more time with us in our first consultation than 4 other companies combined. She made suggestions for the layout and really helped my vision come to life. The owner Bob was very hands on and helped ease my fears taking on this enormous finance and project. I can not say enough how wonderful the work Counter-vations provided. The crew was always respectful, professional, and did amazing work. Communication between the design company, the subcontractors and myself did have some let downs and I felt that we didn’t always have a plan for the day to day and what to expect. There were some problems with the renovation making it go much longer than originally estimated. However, when problems did arise solutions were found and overall we were happy with everything. I am in love with the final product."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

On average, a kitchen remodel costs around $27,000, with a typical price range between $14,700 and $41,400. However, the total cost can vary significantly based on the project's scope, material quality, geographic location, and whether you change the kitchen's layout.

A small-scale remodel can cost between $3,500 and $20,000. This may include painting walls, refacing or refinishing cabinets, upgrading one or two appliances, and installing a new sink and faucet.

A large-scale, high-end remodel that overhauls the entire kitchen by moving walls, changing plumbing and electrical, and installing all new components can cost from $70,000 to $130,000 or more.

If you're looking for ways to save money on custom cabinets, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. For starters, comparing door styles to choose the most cost-effective option is a great way to save money on the overall project.

In addition, choosing a common wood species versus an exotic one will lower the price. Woods like oak and hickory are often more affordable wood choices, and the same goes for knobs, pulls, and other finishes where picking a commonly available style can reduce costs.

You can modernize an old-looking closet by just painting it, but beyond that, consider electric elements like recessed or accent lighting. If this is a large and deep closet, you can consider adding an island to the middle or a nice ottoman on a rug. Luxury closets will have even more items, like felt-lined drawers for watches and jewelry, in-wall safes, electronic shoe storage, or a tablet catalog of their items.

Refinishing cabinets requires sanding and restoring them with paint, lacquer, or stain. Refacing cabinets involves removing and replacing existing cabinet doors and hardware. Refacing cabinets can be more costly. Refacing cabinets typically costs between $4,500 to $10,600

Yes, cabinet makers continue to fabricate custom kitchen and other household cabinets for new construction homes. Cabinet makers also replace and renovate existing kitchen cabinets. The cost tends to be higher than choosing manufactured cabinets from a major retailer, but you get the cabinets specially designed and made to fit the unique needs of your space.
