Customers say: True professional

"Billy responded to my request for an estimate immediately and work was scheduled within 3 work days. O. Cooper was one of three estimates obtained and they had the most competitive price. They arrived on time and worked quickly, but efficiently. They prepped the area, removing weeds and trimming grass along the driveway. The quality of their work was excellent, they diligently filled multiple cracks in my large driveway. The sealant was applied evenly and thoroughly. They cleaned up the area before departing."

"I highly recommend Allstate Paving. They paved a large residential driveway for me. Their price was very reasonable and competitive. They went above and beyond in peeping the base and the finished work was excellent."

"Good communication through website for scheduling.

Had to re-schedule due to weather

Did everything they advertised, however very little grass seed seemed to take root.  Not sure is issue was my soil, their seed or some other issue(s), but there were no recommendations or any follow up.  They did what they advertised, were prompt and professional - I'm just disappointed with the results.

"This was about the fourth time we have hired Chad Hurry for landscaping services. In the past, he did a curved paver sidewalk, circular large circular raised planters that coordinate with stacked stone and paver retaining walls in the front ditch and sides and back of our house, two patios on either side of the back deck, and total landscaping (with large rocks and plants) of the front yard. People have actually stopped and taken pictures of our yard. So, when we decided to add a walkway to the side of our house and remove a dying tree and re-landscape, we did not bother to call anyone else... just called Chad. Why mess with success?
Chad and his assistant, Rob, were extremely easy to work with. We discussed our vision and Chad sketched out his ideas based on that... it was exactly what we were thinking. They were friendly, professional, and hard-working. The walkway they constructed exceeded our expectations... it was far sturdier than I thought it would be. They cleaned up the driveway and work area at the end of each work day and completed the entire project in 7 days... extremely reasonable. We felt the price was very reasonable as well.
We have hired Chad several times and would hire him again without hesitation!

"Highly recommended!  I contracted with Brick Solutions owner, Joe Walls, to have a badly damaged concrete driveway replaced with brick pavers.  I had previously gotten estimates for replacing the driveway with new concrete but I was concerned about damaging the roots of a very old tulip poplar tree adjacent to the driveway.  When the concrete contractor informed
me if he didn?t cut the roots he couldn?t guarantee the concrete but if he did cut the roots he could not guarantee the tree would survive, I decided to go with brick.
Joe said he could do the driveway without damaging the roots.  He broke up the old concrete with a jackhammer rather than bringing in heavy equipment.  We consulted with an arborist who told Joe what could or could not be cut.  When our plan to save a portion of the old concrete did not work out because it was too cracked Joe volunteered to break it up and replace it
with brick at no extra charge.  He worked carefully, followed all out suggestions, and managed to give us a smooth brick
driveway that looks much better than what we had before.
In short, Brick Solutions did a great job for a reasonable price and it was pleasure to work with Joe.

"Fernando came over after I purchased the offer from Angie's list. He estimated an additional $750 to do the work. He and his brother came on the appointed day and spent almost 11 hours repairing the sidewalk, short joints and long ones. They replaced several broken bricks (I had the spares) and packed the area between the sidewalk and driveway with an asphalt material I provided. The sidewalk was over 15 years old so the new yellow mortar did not quite match to old mortar. Hopefully the sun will help the matching process. Otherwise, the sidewalk has been repaired and looks good."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Recycled asphalt is a durable choice for a driveway, but doesn’t have the same appearance and low maintenance as standard asphalt. For long driveways in rural communities, recycled asphalt can make a great choice. Recycled asphalt is 20% to 30% percent less expensive than standard asphalt and is better for the environment.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.

There’s no single best asphalt grade—it all comes down to where and how it’s used. Highways and heavy-traffic roads need something tough, like polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) or Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA). Local roads and parking lots rely on the Performance Graded (PG) system, chosen based on climate. A PG 64-28 mix, for example, handles a broad temperature range while simpler, more cost-effective mixes are typically enough for residential driveways. The best grade of asphalt depends on traffic, weather, and your budget, which is why a professional’s input is always a smart move before making a decision.

Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.
