"Ryan and the team at Delightful Gardens was fantastic. We got a few quotes/designs for a backyard project (tearing down an old deck and trying to do something with an area where grass would not grow). Ryan easily came up with the best design, and the price was very reasonable. Once the actually work started, things went very smoothly, and Ryan kept us up to date along the way of any delays (weather for example). We fell in love with his design for our area, and the finished job exceeded even what we imagined. The crew doing the actual install were very friendly, and cleaned up nicely after each day. Everything we experienced with Delightful Gardens is the exact opposite of every other contractor we have worked with. Such a pleasant experience all around. You can't go wrong with these guys. The layer of polymeric sand under the pavers plus the polymeric sand that gets swept into the joints between your pavers holds them in place in a few ways. For one, the gritty texture of the sand helps lock the pavers together. Polymeric sand also contains bonding agents that get activated by water. Polymeric sand will take between 24 and 48 hours to fully cure, so do not walk on your paver walkway before this time.

While the specific timeline for building a driveway can vary based on driveway length and local weather conditions, the average concrete driveway can require several days to lay down all of the different parts of the driveway. The curing process may require you to avoid using your driveway for a week following construction. Heavier vehicles should be kept off of a new concrete driveway for several weeks. Building a gravel driveway may take just one to two days in total.

If you’re installing pavers over an existing concrete slab, you don’t need to affix the majority of the pavers, but you should use a polyurethane-based adhesive on the border pavers. Polyurethane will expand and contract with temperature changes, which will help keep the pavers firmly in place throughout the year. It’s also strong enough to stand up to foot traffic. While paving a driveway is possible to do as a DIY project, we don’t recommend it. Paving a driveway requires heavy machinery, and while you can rent the equipment needed, operating it close to your garage slab or around your home’s foundation can crack it and lead to structural issues.
