"Our inspector, Mike Mele, was wonderful. From start to finish, he not only was very professional and polite, but he did an amazing job of telling us our problems (pretty major) without fear mongering us into upsales. He told us our problem, recommended a solution, gave us a very reasonable price to said solution, and then constructed us a payment plan process that won't hurt our pockets and will ease our stress. Thank you so so much! Im freaking amazed and grateful as hell."

"The installation of the egress window and sump pump was performed in a skilled and professional manner. It's a complex and dirty job that really needs to be done right the first time. While Jordan is not the cheapest, the work done was of the highest quality. After the project was completed, the walls were repaired and everything was meticulously cleaned. Jordan went the extra mile. I would definitely recommend JDS Home Improvement."

"Travis and Chris were a great team and did an amazing job bringing our guest bath out of the 80's and into a beautiful modern space. Travis worked with my husband and me on our design vision and helped us pick out materials to complete the renovation. From there, we made a deposit and scheduled a date. This was a complete bathroom overhaul that required all new fixtures. When they tore up the carpet (yes, carpet) in the bathroom they found that the floor was half the cement foundation and half wood subfloor, which made for an uneven surface not ideal for laying tile. Travis quickly came up with a solution that allowed us to level out the floor and put down the tile we wanted. This delayed the project slightly, but it was well worth it to have a beautiful finished product. Each evening Travis and Chris cleaned up the space as much as possible and were very respectful in our house. I would definitely hire Graham Restoration for our next project and look forward to working with them again!

"I can not say enough good things about ARJ group!! This is the 4th contractor I've hired and ARJ was by far the BEST in every category. I dealt with Marcus May - who is one of the partners. He was unbelievably responsive, always got back to me immediately whether it was via text, email or phone call. He was physically onsite overseeing the entire project from beginning to completion. There were around 4 different workers to come through (tilling, electrician, wall tear down, etc) and every single one was on time, thorough and VERY nice, polite and respectful of my stuff and being in my home.
I also found the price very reasonable. And the quality of work was excellent!
I would recommend ARJ Group to anyone!

"Rosaly and Arquimedes are doing a fantastic job installing a basement kitchen, bath, and rec room.  He's an incredibly hard working and honest man who cares about the quality of his work and his attention to detail.  He's on time and is always open and flexible to any changes.  His prices can't be beat even after I vetted several other contractors.  He's very easy to work with and has great ideas.  His finishing work is beautiful and clean!!  You won't go wrong with Rosaly!

"They were very fair in pricing. They were 15,000 less than our budget. They have been very responsive this entire time. They stayed late to help pick out the cabinets. They are very professional and they are doing everything they can to get us moved in by the time we want."

"Everything went very well. Had to take Miguel to home depot to get a few extra supplies. I had almost everything on hand for the work to be done but some simple extras were needed. Work proceeded on return and was completed without issue. Work took place in a friendly and cooperative manner."

"They did a good job. They engaged in a pretty hard sales thing which annoyed me somewhat. I have been getting phone calls even recently, which I don't particularly care for. They did a good job on what I hired them to do. It was a high pressure sale where if I called anyone else, the price would not be good. I won't use them again because I don't want to engage in that. I don't know about their price because he wouldn't let me ask anybody else. They came when they were supposed to and I never had to call them back for anything."

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.

Adding windows to a house is expensive. Budget roughly $5,800 to add a single window, and double or triple that to add two or three. In some cases, adding a single window can exceed $20,000, depending on the type of exterior wall, the size of the window, the type of window, local permit costs, and other factors.

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

DIY is possible for experienced individuals. Professional installation ensures compliance with building codes and proper sealing.
