"We had a chimney fire in February and we had them come inspect the chimney damage and stove condition. They installed a new stainless chimney liner and new Jotul wood stove. We couldn’t be happier with the service and purchase. Top notch experience! We highly recommend!"

"These Guys are the Definition of Professional. I had a chimney fire the other night and my wife and I called several company's and received no answer, of course it was 11:30pm so I expected that no one would answer. Sure enough Mr. Honeycutt picked up and said he'd be there personally first thing in the morning. He showed up and inspected the situation gave me a quote with a amazing warranty. Within 48 hours my nightmare was over."

"We recently moved into this home and wanted the chimney inspected and swept prior to using it for the first time as we were uncertain if it had been done in recently.  Robert was highly recommended to me by my neighbor so I gave him a call.  I had to leave a message but my call was promptly returned and an appointment made.  I was quoted $145 which was reduced to $135 when I asked if he had a military discount.  He arrived on time and took a look up the chimney noting that it had been swept prior to our move in and said that it looked good.   He took the time to explain how chimneys are put together and how ours was in good shape.  He showed us how to open/close the damper and explained the fan system our unit has.  He then moved to the outside and went up to the roof and inspected the chimney cap and the surround.  The chimney cap was a little tilted so he righted it.  He took pictures of the exterior and included them in our final statement.   The final bill was $95 instead of the $135 quoted.  All in all, a good experience.  I will certainly call him again next year.

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

Walking on any roofing material is dangerous, so you should avoid it if you can, but if the need arises, you should know that you can walk on a concrete tile roof without damaging it. Try to step on the bottom portions of the tile that are supported by the lower layer, and distribute your weight evenly across both feet and hands, if possible.

In most cases, inspection costs are not included in closing costs. The inspection is usually a standalone expense the buyer or seller covers by choice. Closing costs are normally required and designed to cover other costs, such as appraisal fees, title search fees, and attorney fees.

While a few icicles on your roof are standard, a large accumulation can be a sign of a bigger problem, such as poor insulation. This is particularly true if you are also dealing with ice dams. If you have numerous large icicles, it is recommended to have a roofing contractor diagnose potential insulation issues and create a plan to solve them.

EPDM roof installation isn’t too complicated, which means an inspection won’t be prohibitively expensive—around $500. These inspections should be carried out once a year in order to notice any deformities or other issues that would need immediate fixing. The saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” should be in your mind when considering regular inspections.

Getting a roof inspection once per year will uncover damages to your tile roof that indicate a replacement or repair is necessary. You can also look for cracked, damaged, or missing tiles from the ground once or twice yearly and after major storms to see if you need to schedule one-off repairs.
