"Ive had my driveway "fixed" by a couple of different companies over the years and it never lasted — washouts, ruts, standing water, the same problems creeping back within a season. Apex Earthworks actually diagnosed why it kept failing instead of just patching the surface again. They regraded it properly and addressed the drainage, not just the driveway itself. It's been solid through everything since, no ruts, no washouts, no puddles. What stood out most was that Gaige and his Crew clearly know what they're doing — this isn't guesswork, it's actual expertise in grading and drainage. They showed up when they said they would, and cleaned up the site when they were done. After years of paying other people to "fix" my driveway, it's a relief to have it actually done right the first time. I will recommend Apex Earthworks to everyone!! Thank you Gaige!! Your professionalism speaks volumes!!"

We are a small business only about 3 workers which includes myself.

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.

Pros will assess your soil type, property geography, and rain patterns for optimal slope.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

Costs vary, but you can expect to spend between $1,000 and $4,000 to prepare land for a mobile home or before you build a house. You’ll need to clear enough land for the foundation, which may require leveling or grading, as well as removing trees, stumps, and plants. Don’t forget to plan for permits and fees and the installation of a gas line, water line, and sewer main.

If you can’t find any records online, you’ll need to contact your county clerk’s office to do further research. They should have property records on file, or can at least point you in the right direction of who to contact. You can also speak with your neighbors about when their houses were built because they were likely built around the same time.
