"Travis and helpers have been the best handymen crew I've used in recent memory. His work is of the highest quality, he's right on time every day and works a full day if necessary, sometimes longer, his work is very reasonably priced, he uses the best materials, and, perhaps best of all, he's honest. He recently did a whole house painting for me, and it turned out to be an exceptional job. We agreed on one coat of paint overall, but in lots of places he put on 2 or 3 coats at no extra cost, we agreed on a limited, specifically identified amount of wood trim replacement, he replaced significantly more wood trim and didn't ask any extra. Lots of 2 story ladder work painting about 25 feet up and he didn't charge extra. He also replaced a wood deck for me and the quality of that work was outstanding. On top of all that he's easy to communicate with, respectful and courteous. As far as I'm concerned, he's the best!"

"Owner Ricky Stroup was infinitely patient with us, as after our initial meeting it took us over a year to hire his company to do this work. During that year, we had multiple conversations with him regarding the scope of our project, and he was as willing to contract the scope as to expand it. He wrote several proposals for us, so we could see the financial impacts of our different scope options. Our indecision on scope, and delay in scheduling, never caused any frustration or ill will on his part. Mr. Stroup was helpful, friendly, and patient throughout! His team installed everything in one day, and all who worked on our project were extremely courteous and professional. We have been very impressed with the quality of the work. Working with Gutter Glove of North Carolina was an enjoyable experience, and I recommend this company!"

Corey and his team did an amazing job painting our ceilings, trim, walls, and doors. Corey offered suggestions and guided us through the process as we selected colors, shades, and quality of paint. "Beware of Dollman construction, also doing business as Essential Improvements in the Roanoke, Virginia area and beyond is a company to avoid. They employed somewhat dirty practices in my opinion and while it may not be the fault of Dollman himself, the guy I was dealing with was Tracy White, design consultant. Ironically, he's no longer with the company. If my situation had contributed to that, Dollman made the right choice in getting rid of him. While I have copious notes as to what happened here, for the sake of the review, and my fingertips, I'll do my best to keep this brief. I was looking to get a workout building built (16x20), concrete flooring, walls, lights, etc. Tracy guesstimated they could do it for within 65k while several of the others I had gotten quotes from were north of 80k. His confidence gave me confidence and that was my biggest mistake. He wrote up a very quick design contract/commitment where I had to provide a 5k deposit and if they came in above 65k, I'd get my money back if I didn't want to proceed. I signed it, this was my second mistake. The agreement I signed didn't have enough parameters written in, just that they had to deliver a workout room / building conceptual design for a project within a 65k budget. A couple of months went by and I had met with Tracy White and Jimmy Dollman once to go over the initial design, after my signoff the quote would be provided. Jimmy was unaware that we had this agreement and the budget was 65k and it was never brought up in our face to face meeting. We just discussed the design, changes I would want and some recommendations he had for me. Price was never brought up but the quote would be coming. Some weeks later Tracy asked if he could stop by with the quote and I of course was fine with it. He came over empty handed, I invited him in and he told me it was going to be 92k. I asked him why, he said that it would have been 65k base cost with no profits if they were to do it for themselves. The 92k was because of the distance between them and myself. I told him it was odd because he had confidence they could do it for 65k. He nodded and then said that he didn't want to tell me over the phone, text or email and he felt I deserved a face-to-face meeting. I reminded him of the agreement, he said he had it but took a picture anyway and said he'd talk to Jimmy about returning my 5k. Within that same week Tracy reached out and told me that he spoke to Jimmy and was told that they can do the project within 65k but obviously some things would change. I told him not to bother and just refund my 5k. He responded with things along the lines of "you can't expect us to work for you for months for free" and "the 92k was because of all the things I wanted". That's simply not true. This left me feeling gutted because at this point I didn't want to use them anymore and what would this design look like? No walls, lights, ceiling or roof? I had some options, but I wasn't going to chase it too hard, however the route I decided to take was to email Jimmy Dollman directly, take accountability for the mistakes I feel I made, mention that I felt Tracy didn't communicate openly or honestly with me, him and/or his team. There was some lapse in communication beyond me and my control. I proposed that he refund $2500 to me because I didn't want anything for free, however I still wanted the agreement to be upheld with honesty and integrity. Dollman never replied to my email but in a separate email communication with Tracy asking where this magical 65k quote and design was, he told me that he spoke to Jimmy and understood I wanted $2500 and then to terminate our relationship. I told him I still wanted that if they were agreeable. He said they were and I'd get the check within 2 weeks After 2 weeks I didn't get the check, I called Dollman, I spoke to someone else there, gave her the background and forwarded the emails. It was at that point I was told that Tracy was no longer with the company. That's a small victory. I had to followup again after Labor day weekend 2024 and they finally sent out the check, it's deposited in my account and while I'm not happy, I'm content. Beware of these dirty practices and keep your head on a swivel. Go with a company that doesn't require a design agreement. Get a detailed quote without that and go from there."

"Hired All-In-One to put on a roof a roof on the back side of my hour in October, 2015. The roof had been replaced in 2010, but it has started leaking on the back side of the house. The company who had put the roof on in 2010, had went out of business. The work done by All-In-One in October, 2015 was great. Problem solved. The project manager was fantastic and very responsive. Fast forward to March 2022 and a little background on my house. I have a log cabin. It is all wood, including the roof and support beam that runs the whole crest of the roof can be seen from the inside of the house. It has cathedral ceilings and does not have an attic. The first part of March, a leak started over my stairs leading up to the second level of the house. I set a date for the AIO project manager to come out and take a look at the problem. The date came and went with the manager apologizing for not being available. Set a second date. The next date the manager showed up and looked at the problem. I asked if the previous project manager still worked for the company. I was told no. An inspection continued and the new project manager told me this company had worked on log cabins in the past without any trouble. The estimate was provided and I agreed to the work to be done, but wanted a list of materials. I was told I would be given it when the crew arrived to begin work. A couple days before the work was to begin, a delivery of the materials came. It included a ridge vent. This type of hour CANNOT have a ridge vent because cutting into the peak of the roof would be cutting into the support beam. I called to protest the vent being installed. Also, it seemed to me like an awful lot of shingles and nails for this project. The work began with another layer of particle board to provide additional protection on the roof and no vent. The roof was installed. I anticipated no problems and was told everything looked great. I had to have 2 hip replacements this year, so climbing on top of the house at that time was almost impossible and I had to take their word for the great work. To make a long story short, the work was terrible. There was never a problem with leaking around my chimney and sky lights, but after this roof was installed, I had rivers of water in an ALL WOOD HOUSE. Water and wood do not go together. I called MANY times about the leaking problems and was told the problem had to be with the chimney. A friend of mine who is 88 years old and had put on roofs for many years came over to evaluate the problem. He crawled on top of my very steep roof and saw the problem immediately. He said when the new particle board was put on, it made little room for flashing. So, AIO tried to use aluminum in hopes of diverting any water without putting the flashing flush against the cement of the chimney. They put the aluminum one the decorative stone. Also, we wrapped the chimney with a tarp to PROVE water was not coming in through the chimney. After MANY calls and LOTS of caulk, it still leaked. I knew it would never be fixed by this company, so this year I found a company that had 40 years of experience and came out to evaluated the problem and told me the same thing my friend told me. They should have cut some of the decorative stone to get a flush bond to the cement. I have had multiple hard rains after the fix and not ONE leak. I had a five year warranty with this company, which if you read the fine print of the contract, means nothing. Also, the extra material for this job, including the ridge vent, were loaded up and taken away. I have to wonder if the vent and extra material were taken to another job and the residents were charged. I WILL NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN."

"Terrible customer service experience over a job that took twice as long as originally planned. I left messages for weeks and weeks for management to call me back. When I finally did get a manager on the phone they were argumentative and unapologetic about my frustrations. It seems like this company has too many customers and not enough staff to serve them. Very disappointing-- especially for a local company."

I take the time to understand the task at hand and what's involved to accomplish it and during the process I verify that no corners are cut and the job is done correctly, professionally, in a timely manner and typically above the expectations of all involved. This is not the case with Cook Siding and Window specifically Jessie Cook. I discovered after the vinyl siding job on my house was complete that house wrap was left off one side of my house. Not until over 2 months did Jessie finally get his crew out to remove the vinyl siding and install the promised house wrap. No excuse for such lack of professionalism and delay to correct a mistake on their behalf. To top it off he charged me full price!"
