"They do lawn and yard work. They trim the bushes, maintain the lawn and handle the fertilization. They provide a regular service. I would recommend them because I have used them. They are very dependable. I cannot say that I dislike something about them. On their last visit, they cut the grass, aerated the yard and put down the fertilizer. Their prices are reasonable."

"Initial Effort: It was performed professionally and when our agreement stated that it would start. It was a multi-day effort, where Mario's team worked efficiently and cleaned and swept up all areas at the conclusion of each day. Mario came at the start and end of day to ensure that his team performed the work correctly and to answer any questions that we may have had.
Ongoing: Mario's team performs a wonderful job each time. They cut the lawn, edge, and maintain the flower beds. It is a pleasure to come home and see a perfect landscape after have visited.

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Yes, some grass will germinate in two weeks or less but it will take several weeks more before it is established enough to walk (or nap) on. To grow grass quickly, follow the tried-and-true-steps carefully, starting with choosing a cool- or warm-season grass seed that flourishes in your home’s climate.

Like most plants, the seeds need water, optimal temperature, sunlight, and oxygen. Each variety of grass seed will have slightly different needs—higher or lower temperatures, for instance—so pick one that syncs up with your home’s climate and the time you wish to plant. Take a look at the 10-day forecast to ensure there won’t be a major rainstorm.

This depends on the type of grass seed, as some types do better in different environmental conditions. Cool-season grasses go dormant during the summer months when the soil temperature exceeds 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Once exposed to regular doses of heat, the germination rates decline, with seedling death not far behind.

As for warm-season seeds, they come from tropical parts of the world and thrive in heat. They actively grow in warm air temperatures between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and they prefer soil temperatures between 65 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Once temperatures dip and frost rolls in, if you don’t store them properly, warm-season grass seeds will die quickly.

Whether or not grass will fill in bare spots itself depends on the type of grass you have. For example, grass with rhizomes (e.g., Bermuda grass) and stolons (e.g., Saint Augustine grass) will naturally fill in bald spots as it spreads laterally. However, clump-forming grasses will not spread.

If your lawn and general landscape are struggling, consider calling a local landscape specialist to suggest lawn amendments, local plants, and hardscape changes to boost the long-term health of your outdoor space. While you may be able to take on small projects yourself—such as reseeding your lawn or testing the soil—a professional can help you build a plan to bring a struggling yard back to life quickly.
