I am including some before and after pictures. My main thought - take a look at the before pics and notice how much damage a good rain could have caused on my roof structure if I had not climbed on the roof, took pics and asked them to come back and fix it. No customer should have to do that; it should have been right the first time. Air ? Electrical: If you have any kind of HVAC or electrical situation needing prompt, professional, effective service, we recommend you contact Wooldridge. The company?s motto ? ?our people make the difference? ? was constantly exemplified in our every interaction with the company from the helpful office personnel to the knowledgeable company representative who came to our house the very same day we called to the proficient, professional, expert technicians who installed the new heating and cooling units. We recommend them without reservation. The Details When we were consulting Angie?s List for HVAC service we noticed that many Wooldridge customer reviews were quite detailed. We believe that working with Wooldridge invokes detailed responses because of their dedication to their customers so we follow on that tradition in telling our story of how Wooldridge came to our rescue. In September 2014 we were in the process of buying a home a little more than an hour west of Lynchburg, VA, Wooldridge?s home office. During the home inspection it became evident that the house heat pump system was not just old and very deficient but also likely to cease working at any time. Indeed, the air conditioning was not really functioning. We contracted with a local HVAC provider with the expectation that our system would be repaired or replaced before winter really set in. But October came and went with no response from the contractor. November also came and went even though we called several times. With winter showing itself in December we called yet again. While courteous the contractor could give no assurance that his company would be able to help us anytime soon. So in desperation we began looking outside our immediate area by using Angie?s list. That?s when we found Wooldridge and were persuaded by the many testimonials to contact them. Within less than 3 hours of our calling, Wooldridge?s heating and air representative, Will Sandidge, was at our house. He would not leave until almost 9 o?clock that night (in a snow storm no less) after conducting the most thorough analysis of our HVAC problems and needs. He worked tirelessly (and way beyond normal business hours) to understand our situation and make a series of recommendations ranging from replacement to more efficient equipment. Given our previous difficulty in obtaining service, the lateness of the season, the reviews on Angie?s list, and expert analysis by Will, we agreed to contract with Wooldridge that very evening. And they would install the very next week. There was another problem, though. But Wooldridge stepped up yet again. The old heat pump had been electrical and we already had enough history with it to know that it was expensive to operate. So we wanted the new system to be a gas one. We had been trying, however, as with the local furnace contractor, for several months to have gas service installed. But alas to no avail; no one locally would commit to doing the job. Will said that although he didn?t know any gas outfitters in our area he would try to help. The next morning when we talked he had a recommendation. And that person could and would come the first day of the furnace installation scheduled the next week. Wooldridge?s people do make a difference. And now it?s time to introduce Nelson Wilde and Jack Thomasson, the Wooldridge installers, two of the most knowledgeable, professional, careful, and courteous HVAC technicians you could ever hope to have in your home. They arrived, along with Will, at the time they told us to expect them on the first day of installation. Because of the distance from their shop and time required to travel it, Nelson suggested early in the day that the two of them stay overnight to minimize travel time and expedite the installation which was planned to take 3 days. We cannot say enough nice things about Nelson and Jack. They volunteered to spend 3 days away from family and friends in order to help us. Each of those three days they worked 12 hours and more a day to complete the project. And from what we could tell, this was not a routine installation. There were a number of challenges to be overcome such as an unusually small crawlspace under the house in which to work, the removal and installation of equipment through a very narrow entryway to the crawlspace, the development of a number of improvised ?transitions? which had to be produced at the Lynchburg office and brought to our house. Yet, throughout the 12+ hour days, the challenges of making large equipment fit in small spaces, and getting it all connected in the right ways, Nelson and Jack, as well as Will who often was there during the three days, never failed to take time to explain to us when we had questions, were always unfailingly courteous (I?m still not used to be called ?sir? so often), and incredibly conscientious about protecting our house and keeping it clean. As Nelson said to me at one point when I told him he didn?t need to keep putting on the protective booties over his boots when he came into the house, ?It?s just a whole lot better for everyone if we don?t make a mess in the first place.? Debris and other installation trash was always contained and out of the way including the plants that had to be removed in order to install the compressor (the gas outfitter, who was not a Wooldridge employee, had left cigarette butts all over the yard). As promised in three days we had our new furnace and air conditioner installed and it has continued to work well since then. We believe Wooldridge?s philosophy of their people making the difference was constantly exemplified in everything they did for us. We think from our experience so far they are a company you can really count on. And we are especially grateful to Will, Nelson, and Jack for their commitment to and expertise in helping us when we really needed it. Wooldridge?s people do make a difference. As a postscript we are usually skeptical of product and service reviews although we find the ones on Angie?s List more credible than most. Because people are likely to complain than note when credit is due we often will write to a company to let them when their employees perform in exceptionally professional ways. In this case we would have written to Wooldridge directly making the observations we have here. Uncharacteristically we have chosen to use a more public forum because we believe Wooldridge earned it.

I needed some major work done and was unfamiliar with any contractors in the area. I consulted the yellow pages and found Dollman Construction. I called them to evaluate the project and requested an estimate. Mr. Dollman met with me at the job site and we reviewed my needs. I purchased a 36x30 steel building in February, but needed a contractor to erect the building. Not only was the building erection needed, but this job required foundation drawings, removal of several large trees, excavation of the site, building approval and permit by the county for the design of the building and accompanying lot, as well as insulation and electrical work which were not originally included in the plans. Mr. Dollman's company was able to work with my needs as changes in the plans indicated. All work was completed by Dollman Construction, from the foundation for the building to completing the parking lot outside the garage. The building was quickly and professionally erected, with concrete pads and extra large garage doors. The house we purchased had significant water damage by a door off the side of the house. Construction of a new porch area and repair of the damage was next. The company built a new porch and now this is my favorite entrance and exit into the house. The carpenters made improvements to the area so no new water damage would occur in the future. The roof was twenty years old, and needed to be replaced. Mr. Dollman's company was fast and efficient replacing the roof. A steep A-frame house with skylights over a sunroom and edges which overlooked a steep incline with nowhere to deposit the old shingles presented a significant challenge to the roofers. The roofers were able to finish the job in ONE day, including clean up of the area. Great care was take to avoid damage from the workers to any structures or landscaping plants. The onsite supervisor of the work crews is knowledgeable and always available for questions and concerns. The cost of this work was around ninety thousand dollars, but the work is professional and the employees are polite and conscientious. I am quite pleased with Dollman Construction and have already spoken to Mr. Dollman regarding other projects I need to complete. I could not be happier with the work completed and highly recommend Dollman Construction to anyone looking for a contractor. On another note, the point of contact in the office is Crystal. She is very polite, friendly and dependable. A rare gem. Russell checked in with me a couple of items to ensure he was doing the work the way I wanted it. He also walked the yard with me after completion to ensure I was completely satisfied and that all work items had been properly done. David also followed up by email to ensure I was satisfied. Their arborist was brought in to do the dead tree removal work. He took great care to ensure no adjacent healthy trees got damaged in the process. They impressed me by finding a way to help me maximize results within my budget. David Mintz is very engaged in his work and is great about sharing knowledge of landscaping techniques and plants as you scope out the project with him.

Service folks were courteous, professional and in uniform.
The utility company by chance was cutting the growth from their power lines the same time as our appointment was and we were without power for about 3 hours. Workers worked around this issue. They were extremely careful in washing off spray from nearby plants and left the property in better shape than when they arrived (ie, rolled up our hoses, etc).
Plan to use the company when our deck needs cleaning and would recommend to others. House and roof look new! (Others wanted me to go and visit a source or showed me a brochure but wouldn't leave it.) Work was performed in two stages. Crew spent one day removing old deck and concrete slab. They arrived on time and Carol Bright, owner, was with them. I was introduced to the foreman The crew carefully transplanted shrubs/plants that were in the way. They put up protective wood over my windows and doors while old concrete was being broken up. A few days later, a crew arrived to install the new pavers. Carol would make periodic checks on progress/quality. A separate crew came to make my custom gate. They were efficient and did it in one day, showing me how it locks, etc. The work was completed in 3 days and looks fantastic. It was a painless procedure, I was informed all the way, and the results are beautiful. Additionally, I wasn't hounded for money - just a down payment and the rest due after work was completed. Bear Creek Lawn Care was, by far, the best lawn service we've ever had. The job was to weed and prepare 6 flower beds for mulching, and then, deliver and apply the mulch. Joey, the owner, did a superb job. He was diligent in doing the weeding and creative in applying the mulch so it best set...

I hired Bedford Drilling for drilling a USDA-approved well and installation of watering troughs on my farm. We did experience some scheduling issued related to the weather, but once weather broke we were able to complete the project. The company did a professional job and I would use them again.

Installation of gutter guards were satisfactory. The gutter installation was marginally executed due to: installation of the pop outlets without attaching them to the gutter or caulking to prevent leaking; the gutter leaked when raining; and the manner in which the drip edges were cut and...

FAQs for plant watering projects in Bedford, VA
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
