RockFab recently installed granite in a remodeled kitchen. The selection of granite products at the showroom is exceptional. The delivery times were very punctual. The installation team was most professional and completed the project perfectly.

Owner treats women like they are an inconvenience rather than the driving force behind his business. Rude, loud and obnoxious. We ordered a kitchen and 4 bathrooms remodeled. Never again will I do business with Rockfab. The minute they don't deliver as promised he yells he has you in the contract. If they don't write it in the contract then don't believe for an instant they intend to do it. They are the high-cost provider in the area and the service is nonexistent. The marble they sold is with a 15-year sealer apparently is only warranted for 2 years. We have filed a complaint with the BBB.
Response from Rockfab Kitchen & Bath
"In business for 23 years with 3 million + SF of granite installed. Thousands of happy customers and never a customer like this!... This customer started complaining from the time our technician made the templates (pattern) in her kitchen... she cursed at then hung up on our layout guy (16 years with Rockfab) and the shop supervisor (18 years with Rockfab)... she was extremely rude and threatening to Elissa Benton (sales manager & my wife) that is when I got involved. She has made baseless internet complaints that I'm a "sexist" and that Rockfab is somehow trying to screw her over. We haven't even installed her countertops yet and she's already demanding a cash discount/refund... I won't expose my employee to her further abuse and unpredictable behavior... unless Ms [Member Name Removed] is willing to sit down with me review the terms and conditions of her contract and have a reasonable and calm discussion, we may need a Judge to settle this one."

Everything from the scheduling to quality of workmanship was just outstanding. When the job was complete, we looked at our new kitchen and wondered why we had not called Rockfab years ago. We highly recommend them to anyone wanting to do a kitchen (or bath).

RockFab correctly identified the cause, which was loose epoxy and insufficient physical bracing. RockFab took care to properly reseal the sink and then installed custom cut boards to fit under the counter-top and hold the sink lip against the granite.

Slow it took from order 40/2016 to job completion 8/2016. The workmanship was fabulous on cabinets and counter top. Could do better on installing appliances by reading instructions.

The install guys were nice. Management was a headache, and deceitful. You do not get the slab you see in the showroom.

Melvin and Jim worked for several hours. They skipped lunch. Looked great. One small mis adjustment. Mike Thompson the service manager came on time and stunned us by digging in right away. He figured it out, looks great and both times they vacuumed up after themselves " nature and men abhor a vacuum" GREAT JOB. Lorraine was our sales lady and she was GREAAAT, like Tony the Tiger.

Measurement and installation were completed correctly and on time.  Concerns were raised about the initial sealing and RockFab sent Jennifer who removed a stain with a poultice and resealed the granite.  Jennifer spent a lot of time teaching us about granite care and stain removal.  She is very knowledgeable and friendly, and we really appreciated the excellent customer service she provided.

Kristy planned the kitchen and did a great job. She oversaw the installation and was very responsive and professional. There were a few bumps as would happen in any remodel but she kept things moving forward and had great resolutions to the different problems. If you're going to go with Rockfab, definitely work with Kristy.
My only concerns were the quality of the Wellborn cabinets. I didn't want to overspend so I went with the least expensive option Wellborn offers. I would seriously consider NOT getting the least expensive cabinets.  If you're considering getting Wellborn cabinets, definitely take a look at the higher grade cabinets.  This was my first major home remodel and I was glad I went with Rockfab as they completed the task within the estimated time frame and I thought they were very professional.  Given that they have virtually all of the workers on staff and do not need to get contractors for their jobs, they may not be the least expensive option but given the ability to actually finish in the time frame and have do a great looking job, they may not be the cheapest option but these factors made them worth it for me.

The quality of the material and the installation were excellent.  The communication with the salesperson was not very good.  We were not informed of additional requirements needed for the installation, until the last minute.  Additionally, there was no communication on when the installation would be performed.  We ended up having to call repeately for information.
Response from Rockfab Kitchen & Bath

Cabinet door had factory flaw.  Have been trying to get replacement door since 1-13.  Original salesperson was wonderful to work with. After she left the Lynchburg person was difficult to work with.  Finally spoke with owner who promised many things but also failed to respond to emails after he gave me his email address and asked me to contact him.  Was not told the truth for months about my missing door (yes I have a large cabinet without a door since 1-14) It turns out that the person in the Roanoke store did not know how to correctly order the door. Very disappointing.  The operational failures make since because they start at the top of this organization.  The owner said he would help and not to go to social media.  Well he failed to help me so I hope this helps someone not make the same mistake I did.

Rockfab was great to work with.  I was doing a major remodel on my kitchen and the countertop and backsplash was the last step in the process.  They were able to adjust their schedule to meet mine with little effort.  I had parts of the walls above the counter removed for electrical and plumbing work.  When the Rockfab guy came to make the template for the counter, he was not able to get a good measurement due to the walls.  He sent a carpenter out to level and fill in parts of the walls.  This was done the same day, with no additional cost to me.  The template was done the following week so the granite cutting could proceed.  The install was scheduled and the crew came to install the countertop first, while another guy worked on the tile floor in the half bath.  One guy did the sink/vanity top himself upstairs.  He did a great job.  The countertop was installed, so the crew proceeded to install the tile backsplash.  The floor and backsplash tiling took three days to complete.  The crew worked steadily each day and cleaned up nicely each day.  They did a great job.  I would definitely use them again.

I couldn't be more pleased!  If you don't have time to read my full experience, here is the take-home message; check out Rockfab
before you consider contracting with another provider.  I had consulted with three other remodeling companies before I discovered Rockfab.  I found Rockfab's cost to be competitive, their products to be excellent quality, and their design consultant, Kristi Napier, to be exceptional. While other companies provided reasonable but uninspiring blueprints, Kristi found creative ways to make the kitchen aesthetically pleasing while also maximizing cabinet space and efficiency.   She also found ways to help me keep the project within budget without compromising on the quality or overall design.
Selection of flooring, cabinets, counter top and hardware was also easier at Rockfab than at the other companies I had explored.  Their gallery has an extensive selection of products and having a warehouse full of huge granite and other stone slabs really helped me coordinate my choice of countertop with various floor and cabinet samples.
Rockfab did a great job with the remodeling.  The crew arrived promptly on the anticipated start date, gave us daily updates on what to expect the next day, and the project was completed on time. The workers were professional, efficient, and without exception were polite and agreeable. They were also amazingly neat, cleaning up the work areas each day before they left.  Every worker involved was a true artisan.

Initial install went well.  After a few months, we noticed large water stains in the kitchen granite.  We were caught up with finishing our new home, and didn't contact Rockfab right away.  After a few more months, one of the grout seams in my kitchen started becoming loose.  Also, during the first year, we had several visitors tell us the granite didn't look like it had been sealed properly.  When I contacted Rockfab about their warranty, I was informed that they do not provide any written warranty on their countertops.  They said if I had contacted them within the first year, they would have taken care of the problem.  Now they want $250 to regrout the seam in the granite.    Do yourself a favor and check out Home Depot and Lowe's.  They offer a warranty and are much more professional.  The only plus Rockfab offers is you can pick out your granite slab from their warehouse.  I just found out that Home Depot will let you pick out your own slab as well, if you are willing to travel to their distributors warehouse.  Also, I just priced replacing my travertine tiled bathroom countertop with Silestone.   Home Depot will do the job with a complete warranty and guaranteed satisfaction for $1800; Rockfab wants $5600 to do the same thing with the exact same material.  Do yourself a favor and SHOP AROUND and ask to see a WRITTEN WARRANTY.

The whole experience was outstanding.  They have amazing customer service.  We originally selected a kitchen countertop that we and Rockfab thought was granite but when it started to get stained, we discovered that Rockfab had been misinformed by their vendor and the material was marble.  The owner came to our home and told us they would do anything we wanted, including replacing the entire countertop area (very large too, it took two slabs to cover).  We opted to replace only the areas that had direct food preparation contact.  We picked out another matching granite and they came back and did all the replacement without charge.  The work they do is pristine, they take great pride in their installations.  They are efficient, friendly and clean.  Now a year since installation, we have a small leak in the plumbing under the vanity they installed and they are coming out to fix, again without charge.  Of all the contractors we have worked with, we would give Rockfab our unqualified best endorsement.
