While polybutylene pipes are usually light gray, if you see gray pipes in your home that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re polybutylene. PVC pipes can also come in gray. Check for a “PB2110” stamp, slight flexibility, or a ½-inch to 1-inch diameter, which are also signs of polybutylene.
If nothing is coming out of your faucet, you could have frozen pipes, a clogged faucet, or your water supply could be shut off. First, check your shut-off valves. If it's a hot sunny day, you can rule out frozen pipes and look closer at your aerator for signs of mineral deposits. Removing the aerator and cleaning it out can often return water flow. If temperatures are below freezing, you may have frozen pipes. Knowing what to do when pipes freeze is essential for thawing your pipes and preventing them from bursting.
If you find moisture under your sink, you can clean up the worst of it with paper towels or regular towels. Then, leave the cabinet doors open to allow air circulation. You can also place a fan or dehumidifier near the cabinet to help dry it out a little quicker.

If you’re dealing with substantial clogs, for instance, you may be able to have a plumber come out and clear the clog. But if you’ve tried other repairs and are still dealing with issues, you can opt for epoxy pipe lining as an alternative to repiping. This method coats the inside of the pipe with an epoxy to seal holes or cracks.
