"Timp Trees had the best pricing for their service by far! They were able to get us on the schedule within a week and finished the project in 2 days, cleaning up their mess before they left. Would HIGHLY recommend. Casey and his crew were amazing to work with for our tree removal and stump grinding. They even got rid of a tree house for us that included some pretty stubborn concrete feet buried in the ground. They really went above and beyond."

"Brothers Tree service exceeded my expectations. They arrived on time, and took the time to review what I wanted done. Completed the job exactly as we had discussed. After they were done they cleaned up very well and left the area where the trees were removed nice and manicured. Not only that but they were able to give me next day service. I called them on a Friday night and they had the job completed the next morning!! Would highly recommend them for any tree service or removal job. Pricing is very fair and competitive, I had quotes from two other tree companies and they were lowest. Other tree companies wanted 4-8 weeks to complete the job, and like I mentioned, they completed the job the next day. They have all the same major equipment to get the job done right!! Efficient,, affordable, friendly, and highly skilled. Highly recommend! Thank you so much!"

"ATS Tree Service is awesome. They responded to my request on the same day and removed a large tree, stump and all, trimmed two trees and multiple bushes and did it in record time. Every scrap of debris was cleaned up and I think the price was fair. Adrian and his crew did a great job"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

Licensing requirements for arborists, also known as tree surgeons, vary by state and municipality. Many areas require a license, which often involves specialized education and experience. Even if not mandated, it's wise to hire a licensed professional as they tend to have more experience. Beyond licensing, look for certifications from organizations like the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), as this indicates a higher level of expertise. Certified arborists must typically pass a comprehensive exam. Always confirm that the arborist has a business license and is fully insured to protect yourself from liability. Seeking positive recommendations from local homeowners is also a good step in finding a qualified professional.

For safety reasons, leaning trees are best removed by a professional, as they may often tear away from the hinge, causing you to lose control over where the tree falls. If you choose to cut down a tree leaning slightly, avoid cutting off root protrusions before you start. Make your hinge a little longer than usual by cutting it deeper (up to 30% of the diameter) and applying a wedge into the felling cut on the side the tree is leaning. Stand away from the direction the tree leans while making your felling cut.

Burning a tree stump can be effective, but it comes with safety considerations and isn’t always best for every situation. It's essential to check local regulations and assess the safety risks involved. Stumps that are near wooden structures or other non-moveable flammable objects aren’t good candidates for burning due to the risk of the fire spreading. Alternatives like grinding or a DIY stump rotting project might be safer and quicker for getting the job done.

Maple trees start the growing season by developing small groups of red flowers where the tree's fruit, the samaras, will appear in the coming weeks. Later in spring, the samaras, which many call whirlybirds or similar names, develop into single-winged seed carriers that spin when falling or drifting in the wind.
