"Mr. Alfonso Rocha was very professional. He showed up on time and gave me an expected date for the lawn to be mowed. Due to weather he came a day early and completed the work, surprising me when I can home! Without payment in hand, my yard was mowed and treated for weeds. He is coming back in 2 weeks to finish the spring cleaning and re-mow. Being 8 months pregnant, I appreciate his help and would recommend him for others wanting simple yard maintenance."

"They were wonderful! They worked hard and were very careful not to harm electrical wiring and Yard Light. I would hire them again. In fact, I plan to have them repair our sprinkler system in April this year!"

Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

How often you should maintain your yard depends on your climate and what season it is. A general rule of thumb is to maintain a lawn height of three inches.

You can thicken new grass by using fertilizer, watering it 1 to 1½ inches per week, mowing when it is at an optimal height, and preventing weeds. You should fertilize your grass while you plant the grass seed, or soon afterward. Use an herbicide to prevent weeds or spot spray with herbicide to kill existing weeds.

Yes, many pros leave clippings, as they break down quickly, enhancing your lawn’s nutrient profile without extra effort from you.

Many experts say anytime before 10 a.m. is a good time to water grass, but this does depend a bit on the climate conditions where you live. For example, if you live in South Florida and it’s already 95 degrees by 7:30 a.m., it may simply be too hot to effectively water your lawn, regardless of what the time is.

You can mow the grass when it’s dry to the touch, usually between 2 and 5 hours if it was a light rainfall or morning dew. If the rainfall was significant, you may need to wait up to 2 days until the grass is dry. Touch the grass and soil to determine if it’s dry. Be sure to check in shady areas too, as those can take longer to dry out.
