"My property has long sidewalk islands. They have rock instead of grass. There were a lot of weeds growing among the rocks. Jaeden and his crew dug out all of the rock, the landscaping fabric, and about 3 inches of soil. They did a great job and asked me about finishing touches, which I appreciated. I had asked not to be shy with the rocks and made sure that there was around 3 inches everywhere. The crew was very friendly and confident in their work. The diesel fuel had spiked by quite a bit a gallon while the work was being done. I happily kicked in extra cash to cover that spike. Definitely will hire them again for other landscaping projects."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Even though ventless fireplaces are safe to use overall, you shouldn’t let them run for more than a few hours per day. It’s also important to make sure the room with the fireplace is well-ventilated. If not, the water vapor from the fire could increase the humidity levels in your home, potentially resulting in mold growth.

A chimney without a liner is not recommended. Chimney liners protect the surrounding structure from heat, reducing the risk of fire or structural damage. Just as important, liners prevent carbon monoxide and other toxic gases from leaking into your abode by guiding smoke and gases out more effectively. Remember, installing a liner ensures safety and extends the life of your chimney.

They provide an affordable, easy-to-install alternative to masonry fireplaces with efficient heating options.

You may have some limitations when looking for materials and a design to reface your gas fireplace versus what’s available for a traditional wood-burning fireplace. Some gas fireplace surround ideas include stone, concrete, brick, tile, wood, steel, and plaster. However, you should check with the manufacturer of your gas fireplace model to determine if you have any limitations on what you can use.

Yes, capped chimneys should still be vented. Failing to vent a chimney will result in condensation buildup inside the chimney, which commonly results in mold growth. If mold begins to grow in a chimney, it frequently goes undetected and spreads quickly through the home. Mold and moisture can damage the structural integrity of your home, and exposure to mold can cause discomfort and illness in residents.
