"The owner is willing to work to solve any issues that come up. Just make sure and funnel your concerns through him directly, and not the crew. We have had a positive response from our neighbors on how beautifully the house turned out."

"Installed today and looks good, if we get some weather I can update if there are any issues. Installer was nice, and understood concerns. Small job so not typical cost per foot, but I knew that going in."

"Comfort homes improvements is an AMAZING company.I had three other companies come out and give me bids for new windows and siding. Some used high pressure sales tactics which I didn't appreciate. Comfort homes improvements on the other hand was amazing through the entire sales process. They were upfront about pricing and provided the best quote while using top quality materials. If my friends or family needed new siding, windows or doors I'd refer them to comfort home improvements."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Siding pros typically charge by the square foot when providing estimates for siding projects. They’ll take the material cost and add in an estimated labor fee, and some contractors will include an additional upcharge to account for profit, waste, and unexpected issues. Another important price factor your pro will consider is the quality of your home’s current siding, which they’ll need to remove, and your home’s sheathing. If pros have to make any additional repairs to your home’s exterior, the added labor will also influence your final siding cost.

Yes, by sourcing materials and textures that blend seamlessly.

Composite siding is very resistant to warping that can affect some other sidings. Because of its composition, this siding doesn’t have the same risks of moisture damage that can cause rotting, buckling, and warping. Composite material doesn’t warp in high temperatures the way some kinds of vinyl siding can.

That said, composite siding is not entirely immune from moisture damage. It should still be properly installed so that moisture can properly drain from behind the siding, and protected by eaves and clean gutter so the siding doesn’t get repeatedly soaked by rain, which could lead to damage.

There should be small gaps between your roof and the walls of your home, and other buildings. These small gaps let building materials shift, expand, and contract with weather and other outside forces, and they prevent moisture from wicking down walls from roofing and gutter systems. Without these strategic gaps, your home’s exterior and its finishes can sustain water damage, decay, peel, delaminate, and crack. However, there is a fine line between a smart gap and a problematic gap—all  gaps should be small, intentional, and covered or filled in with foam insulation to prevent pests from using them as access points.

Siding underlayment varies based on the type of material, but most siding is installed on top of a vapor barrier, a moisture-resistant house wrap, sheathing made from plywood or oriented strand board (OSB), and a layer of insulation sheeting. Having the correct underlayment is a critical part of properly installing siding and will protect your home from water intrusion, structural damage, and energy loss.
