"Did Chimney sweep. Job was fine, professional and cleaned up after job. Issue was the quote and the work done. Quoted on text $249 to $499. I assumed lower quote is for an easy job, the 499 for something out of the ordinary. My job was easy, they were in and out in 20 minutes. I was not there, but my wife was and did not know anything, just said yes to $399. What in gods name would they do for their $249 quote ? I think they took advantage of my wife. I would not of hired them for $400. better cheaper options. Beware"

"I recently hired Keltin for a complete air duct and vent cleaning, and the experience exceeded my expectations from start to finish. Keltin was incredibly professional throughout the entire visit. He took time to walk me through the entire process and answered all of my questions. I was thoroughly impressed by the specific steps taken to ensure my HVAC system was clean. It wasn't just a quick vacuum of the surface vents. He went to each individual room, sealing off the registers to prevent any dust from blowing back into the house. He finished by cleaning out the return drop, washing the vent covers, and left the house smelling incredibly fresh. If you want to significantly improve your indoor air quality, I cannot recommend Keltin enough. I will absolutely be hiring him again for my next scheduled maintenance!"

✨ Hi everyone! ✨\n\nI’m Mariah Cawelti, a mom of amazing kids, a nursing student, and the owner of this small cleaning business based in Ogden, Utah.\n\nLife is definitely busy, but cleaning has always been something I genuinely enjoy. "A.B. Richards did a great job in assessing our roof and letting us know what needed to be done, and was sure to let us know what was a nice to have and a need to have. We ended up needing a chimney cap, and sealing of our dummy chimneys and some other exhaust vents. Bartholomew found us a chimney cap that fit ours, even though it was not a standard size that was made anymore. His wife did a great job of thoroughly cleaning the chimney and was really helpful in showing us how to use our dampener. They even recommended a wood supplier before they left."

"My house is 90 years old, and after recenly buying it and remodeling it, I needed some input on my fireplaces.  These guys came out and gave a great and thorough inspection so I know where to go next.  Unfortunately I have to save up to make some more repairs, but if I had started to use the fire places as-is, I could have had a dangerous situation, OR a lot of black smoke in my house!

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

If you’ve had a recent weather event or any other issue that caused roof damage, there’s a chance your caps are damaged also, and it’s worth having an inspection done to see if you need roof ridge replacement or repair. You should also keep an eye out for caps that are visibly deteriorating or curling. Here are more signs to look out for:

  • Cracks or gaps

  • Discoloration

  • Water stains on the ceiling or walls inside

  • Missing shingles

If you have a vented roof ridge, you may also need repair or replacement if you have sudden issues with indoor humidity.

Walking on the roof to clean gutters is unsafe and not recommended due to significant safety risks. It is especially dangerous on steep or slippery roofs, or if the roof is wet or covered in leaves, which increases the chance of a fall. In addition to personal injury, walking on the roof can damage shingles, potentially leading to water leaks. Instead of walking on the roof, use a sturdy ladder positioned on a stable surface to access the gutters. Be aware that using a ladder also carries risks, as it can be difficult to maintain balance while performing the work. You can also use ground-based cleaning tools. For safety reasons and to prevent damage to your roof, hiring a professional to clean your gutters is the best and safest option.

Inspections should be conducted annually, and minor repairs should be made as needed.

Metal roofs are more resistant to hail than other types of roof materials; however, hail can still damage a metal roof. The extent of the damage depends on the size of the hail and the severity of the hail storm. The type of damage a metal roof can get from hail includes dents, scratches, loose fasteners, leaks, and cracked paint.

The number of roof vents necessary for a 2,000-square-foot house depends on several factors. The calculation depends on the net free area within the attic and whether your municipality requires a 1/150 or a 1/300 ratio of venting square feet to attic square feet. If you install vents with a square-foot opening of one, you'll need either 14 or seven exhaust vents and an equal square-foot amount of intake vents.
