"We are very happy with the work that Vantage Point Roofing did for us. Jacob was very knowledgeable and helpful with our small project to reseal the drip edge on our roof. He also looked around and took care of other potential problem areas for us. I highly recommend Vantage Point and will call him anytime we have roof problems in the future."

"ER Soulution responded to my on-line request within a few minutes and set up a time to evaluate my gutter issue the following day. My gutter, which was relatively new, was sagging and falling down from the roofline on the north side of my house. Emanuel climbed onto the roof, lifted a few shingles and took photos of the underlining gutter/roofing issues. It was rotting wood on my 66-year old house. He showed me the pictures, discussed options, and made arrangements to start the project. The project took 2 days and the end result was perfection. Emanuel (the owner) is professional, responsive, a hard worker, shows up exactly when he says he'll be there, and his pricing is absolutely fair. I highly recommend this young man! Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to replace only one section of a gutter, and it’s a common repair. Often, a tree limb will damage a gutter on one side of the house, or constant weather will cause early corrosion. Gutters are often joined together with couplings that are easy to remove and swap out. For this reason, some homeowners will purchase extra gutters when they install them to have spare sections to use for replacement later.

When you need to repair your galvanized gutters from leaks and caulk isn’t doing the job, you can solder your gutters with a roofer’s soldering iron. First, you’ll need to clean your gutters thoroughly with a wire brush and remove rust and oxidized paint. Next, you’ll make weld points on the gutter and solder over the connection until it’s completely smooth. You can also hire a roofing company near you to tackle this project.

In most cases, it makes more sense to repair leaking or damaged gutters than it will to replace them. You’ll spend an average of $400 to repair your gutters, while full replacement will cost around $2,000 or more, depending on the gutter material and style and the size of your home. If your gutters are nearing the end of their lifespan—usually around 20 years for aluminum or vinyl gutters or up to 50 years for copper or steel—then it might make sense to replace them, as it could cost you less in the long run.

When it comes to which gutter material is better, the choice really boils down to what you're looking for in a gutter system. If saving money is the most important factor, then your best option is to go for aluminum gutters. If longevity and durability are more important to you, then copper gutters could be the best fit. If you want to customize the color of your gutters, aluminum takes the cake, but if you're looking for a more natural appearance, copper might be a better choice.

Icicles don't necessarily mean your gutters are clogged or bad, but they can indicate an underlying issue. While clogged gutters can cause icicles to form, the problem could also be an ice dam on your roof from poor insulation. In that case, melting snow can refreeze in the gutter even without a clog. Regardless of the cause, the weight of the ice can damage your gutters or even rip them completely off the house. If you are unsure of the underlying problem, it's best to call a roofing company to assess the issue and implement a permanent solution.
