"When I got down to my home in St George, I noticed a significant leak out of the emergency pop off valve of the water heater, onto the floor in the garage. I called my neighbor who is much more home repair savvy than myself, over to take a look and offer suggestions. I looked at the production date of the existing heater and it was 13 years old so it was time for it to go.
It was late, about 10PM and I found the listing for Steele Plumbing on Angies List. The offered 24 hour emergency service and I needed it done ASAP because I was going back up to Highland the next day. She asked that I call in the morning about 8AM and when I got her on the phone Friday morning, she said that there would be a tech out between Noon and 2PM.
Josh showed up at the house right about Noon and we looked at the problem and he answered my questions quite matter of factly, was very polite and friendly. He gave me an estimate which was okay and I told him to go ahead. He had a new water heater in his truck and promptly went about installing it. I talked to him along the way and he explained more things to be aware of with water heaters and servicing them regularly.
I'd say he was there about an hour or so, I was gathering stuff up so I could leave and didn't really watch the time. He did a fine job, asked if there was anything else he could help me out with and I told him no. My neighbor who'd come over and was watching, told him there were several things he would like Josh to look at over at his house. So Josh went over there after he was done at my house.
Great young man, great company, I'd use them again.

"John inspected our furnace, he was very professional and did a very thorough job but encountered an unusual and difficult to diagnose situation. John immediately called an expert with 35 years experience and arranged for him to come to our home the same afternoon. We appreciate John's honesty and how courteous he was. Norman was extremely knowledgeable and was able to diagnose our unique problem which came from improper installation of equipment by the home's builder. Every detail was explained and he had specialized equipment which allowed us to see and understand the problem. Norm is an asset to be sure. Todd - Even though it was after hours, Todd came to our home that same evening. After a careful analysis our home he gave us multiple options to resolve the problem, full explaining every detail. Todd was thoughtful, thorough and very helpful. Together we found a solution for our needs. We appreciated the concern shown by all three of these professionals. A+"

Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
It’s possible to fix a broken well pump yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Well pumps are hard to reach and service without the proper equipment, and even if you can reach the pump, it involves working in close proximity to water and electricity, which can be extremely dangerous. Any mistakes made during the repair process could contaminate your water supply or put you and your home at risk. Additionally, some states require that a licensed plumber carry out well pump repair. It’s worth it to hire a professional water pump repair service.
The average cost to repair a well pump is $950, with most well pump repairs ranging between $100 and $2,900. A few factors influence your total repair cost, including the component of your well that needs repair or replacement, the extent of the damage, the accessibility of the pump, and the age and size of your well pump. It might be more cost-effective to replace your well pump if it’s old or has multiple broken components, as the average cost to replace a well pump is $1,800.
Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.
The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
