"Cody was GREAT! Explained all details about drip system to my wife. Determined where system failed & installed replacement plastic where needed. Additionally corrected insufficient water in other area of back yard. Great price for solid work. Had needed plastics in truck. "I received a quote quickly, and work was scheduled and done more than promptly! I had a yard of over grown plants I didn’t know how to deal with. Southern Landscaping made quick work of it and talked me through the plans and costs. It turned out just as expected. Additionally they worked on my sprinkler and leveling gravel in the yard. Communication was excellent!! Highly recommend!!"

"The crew tackling my patio flooring were hard working, efficient and very courteous. My patio looks beautiful. I would highly recommend this Legacy Pavers team. Side note: They were really kind to my annoying puppies and made me feel like they enjoyed working at my house and helping me out!"

"Our landscaping was in need of significant pruning and Mike did a great job. He went the extra mile to take care of the desert landscape. He even worked on the weekend, as well as came back an unscheduled day to get the job finished. I would definitely recommend and hire again."

She was on time and did a fabulous job! I highly recommend her to anyone who wants someone who does a great job, fair price and she’s great to work with!"

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Properly secured bird netting is the best option to cover your grass seed with. It creates a minor moisture barrier that can help seeds sprout, and it’s a great way to keep birds away from your seeds. A cheaper, lower-maintenance option is hay or mulch, but these can change the look of your lawn and require cleanup in the case of straw.

The time you should wait before walking on new grass depends on whether you used seed or sod. If you laid new grass seed, it's best to wait about eight weeks before stepping on it, as new grass is fragile. For sod, it typically establishes itself in the ground in about two weeks. For heavy traffic, like driving a car across a new grass driveway, you might need to wait an entire season.

Costs depend on property size, service frequency, and additional tasks like aeration or overseeding.

Reseeding your lawn can help eliminate thin or patchy portions of grass. If you’re paying a professional to aerate your lawn, it’ll cost you an additional $50 to $80 on average to reseed it  in the same trip. Reseeding a lawn yourself can cost between $500 to $1,000, meaning you’ll probably save time and money hiring a professional service.

This depends on the type of grass seed, as some types do better in different environmental conditions. Cool-season grasses go dormant during the summer months when the soil temperature exceeds 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Once exposed to regular doses of heat, the germination rates decline, with seedling death not far behind.

As for warm-season seeds, they come from tropical parts of the world and thrive in heat. They actively grow in warm air temperatures between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and they prefer soil temperatures between 65 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Once temperatures dip and frost rolls in, if you don’t store them properly, warm-season grass seeds will die quickly.
