"We would give Cody 10 Stars if they were available. He has installed two paver patios for us and our experience with the first prompted the second. On time; responsive; responsible and a true artisan who takes the time necessary to do it right the first time. Plus, his price was reasonable and he’s super easy to get along with. He will be our first choice for any work that is within the scope of what Aspired Custom Creations does."

"Cody did an amazing job. They are experts at designing and installing water features and installing pavers. For our pavers, they laser leveled and compacted the existing soil, laid down and compacted a base material (chat) and took the time necessary to install the pavers perfectly. Because of the special attention paid to setting the grade, rain water runs off of the patio as planned, away from the house and pool. The gaps, where the pavers butted up to an irregular shaped boulder, are tighter than I thought could be done. If getting the job done right is a priority, call Cody at Aspired Custom Creations."

"Emma is one of the hardest working people I know. I knew when I asked her to do my landscaping that she would do an excellent job because of her great work ethic. She was on time and did a fabulous job! I highly recommend her to anyone who wants someone who does a great job, fair price and she’s great to work with!"

"We would absolutely hire these guys again. They went over and beyond what we asked for. We had a vision of what we wanted and they really came through for us. We wanted something more soft and colorful in our backyard near the pool rather than the typical desert landscaping so popular here. They completely dug up our entire backyard, laid sod down, added a water feature, stepping stones, beautiful plants and steps up our slope. Wow! Great job guys! I want you back just to hear your friendly, funny chatter!"

"The Aridscape Utah team visited my home 2 times to discuss the sprinkler system valve and irrigation system upgrades. They gave a detailed and competitive bid quote. The plan was discussed in detail and my requested changes were reviewed and implemented without stress. The two people that I talked with and messaged at Aridscape Utah were professional and very pleasant to work with."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Properly preparing the soil for planting grass seed may include applying fertilizer several weeks before spreading the seed if you plan to overseed the lawn. However, in most cases involving a brand-new lawn, spreading a starter fertilizer along with the grass seed will give it the best chance of taking root quickly and growing strong.

The time you should wait before walking on new grass depends on whether you used seed or sod. If you laid new grass seed, it's best to wait about eight weeks before stepping on it, as new grass is fragile. For sod, it typically establishes itself in the ground in about two weeks. For heavy traffic, like driving a car across a new grass driveway, you might need to wait an entire season.

Whether or not grass will fill in bare spots itself depends on the type of grass you have. For example, grass with rhizomes (e.g., Bermuda grass) and stolons (e.g., Saint Augustine grass) will naturally fill in bald spots as it spreads laterally. However, clump-forming grasses will not spread.

Unfortunately, no. Grass seeds need a lot of moisture until they become sprouts, so this is an especially sensitive time. While they'll dry out if they get dehydrated, over-watering creates other problems. The grass seeds don't recover because they can just wash away or even rot, making for low germination rates. The ones that do germinate after being pushed under the soil may start to sprout only to die from lack of sunlight.

You may need to lay sod on the areas you dug up once you get the okay from the contractor. It will take about 30 to 45 days for the sod to take root. Consult a local sod installer to get an accurate estimate of the timeline of your specific yard-enhancement project.
