"We hired Bradley Evans to work on our patio, doing a few things including some much needed painting, re screening a screen door and installing a ceiling fan. He did a spectacular job! He showed up on time, communicated with us very well and finished quicker than we thought and went above and beyond our expectations! I would recommend Cranston and specifically Bradley to anyone."

"Oscar did an amazing job fixing the issues Vivint caused when installing my security system. Oscar was quick to fix my drywall and repainted the entire wall to ensure the repair blended well. He also replaced the sofit on the back of our home. Everything looks great, would hire again."

"Israel was a professional and then some. He did a great job on a challenging install (one fan was on a 17-foot ceiling and the other was on a 45-degree slope). He made it look like a breeze. He also helped us move the furniture out of the way and back again. We would definitely call him again for additional work."

"DML and his crew are amazing! I had a big project for them for my basement . They had to completely replace the subfloor of a large room and reinforce some of the crumbling infrastructure with a new retaining wall. They gutted, expanded, and remodeled the bathroom with new tile, sink, toilet, vent and fan, everything! I've already recommended them to two other people. Also, their prices are very reasonable."

"I highly recommend Evolve Electric. I had a bathroom fan installed and had it vented to the outside through our brick. Chase was very professional, prompt, and had great communication. He completed the work in a timely manner and it looks great inside and outside the house. He also looked at a light that I thought was not working. He was able to explain what was going on and resolved it at no charge. Chase is very easy to work with and I will use his services in the future."

"It went great! Dave did a great job with installing our French Doors for my home office. The manufacturer shipped the doors with a dent in it, and the hinges were misaligned. Dave scored it up and fixed it, then installed, they look amazing."

"Raul provided us with an extremely fair bid for the tiling our master bathroom and cleaning/re-grouting our shower.  We were exceptionally pleased with Raul's work and kindness.  He was very fair with his pricing and completed the job in the time estimated.  All I have to say is what a difference his work has made for our bathroom!  We have had nothing but great compliments on the work he did and are extremely satisfied with how our bathroom turned out.  Raul communicated very wall throughout the entire installation and provided great guidance on ways to make it look better.  If you are looking for someone to install tile, trust me on our recommendation with using Pibi Tile!"

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Solar attic fans work in winter, but they serve a different purpose than they do in summer. During the colder months of the year, these fans improve air circulation within your attic, which helps remove condensation and moisture to prevent mold growth and protect your insulation and the structure of your home.

As a general rule of thumb, clean your fans whenever you tidy up the home. Fans benefit greatly from a light weekly cleaning and a deep cleaning at the start of each season. If it’s been a while since you touched up the fans with oscillating blades, start with the deep cleaning before moving on to the lighter touch-ups. If you’re unsure when to clean fans and other parts of the home, learn how often you should clean your home.

Yes, you can oil an electric fan with machine or motor oil but don’t use cooking oil because it can become thick or seize up, damaging the fan. Before oiling your fan, turn it off and remove any dust and debris. Wipe away any excess lubricant after oiling.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

A whole-house fan will not allow you to control your home's temperature and keep it at a specific temperature like a traditional AC unit would. You rely on the night and morning weather to cool your home down efficiently. Also, whole-house fans can be loud and may allow cold air to enter your home in the winter. They also require penetrations through your exterior walls or roof, which could invite water and pests in if they aren’t installed properly.
