"I called Smedley's the day after we started noticing ice build up on the pipes coming from our A/C unit.  They were able to send someone out in just a couple hours whereas another repair company couldn't come for another day.  Because the unit was frozen we had to live one day without A/C while the unit was turned off and someone came back 24 hours later.  They diagnosed a broken coil and gave me the options for repair or replacement.  We opted to replace the unit and  Nelden came to my home and our options with me.  He was very helpful and honest about the kind of unit we would need and that made sense for our family and how long we plan to live in the home.  We bought a new unit and were first told that it might take a week before they would have someone out to install it.  But Nelden called me later that evening to let me know it could be installed the next day!  Jared spent the entire day installing it (even clearing out a small bush to make room for the unit in a better spot),  helped me with rebate paperwork, and gave me simple instructions for cleaning it. They also included a A/C unit cover for winter and a humidifier pad at no extra cost.  
My only complaint is that the coupon I found for them through Angie's List (5% off) was only for services, not products or installation.  This wasn't stated on the coupon so future customers should be aware.
Overall, I felt like Smedley's was easy to schedule an appt with, came on time, they were honest about the problem and helpful about solving it in a timely manner.  I will definitely use them again."

I work on a flat rate service, and don't charge by the hour because I feel it's important to educate the customer on what the issue is/was, and how to avoid it in the future. I feel that local service companies (my competition) have been overcharging customers for years. I offer a first time customer discount of 10% but I will offer 15% off for first time customers referred by Angies List. I've lived in the Huntsville area most all my life, so I know the area very well. I will never use a subcontractor as I am very picky about making sure that if my name and company is associated with something, it will be the best experience my customer has ever had, and using sub contractors won't ensure that, so I prefer to do all the work myself. Lastly, I should point out that I am a former offensive lineman for the University of Southern Mississippi and was Brett Favre's center his freshman year at Southern. I went on to play for Tom Landry in his last year, but gave up pro football early on to pursue my passion of fixing computers. If I didn't have bills to pay, I would do this for free because I love it! Some things that I have done in the past are changing/wiring electrical sockets, painting, trimming doors, installing cameras, cleaning gutters, window cleaning, furniture assembly, TV mounting, and so much more. Most of my welding work has been industrial, but I can do small jobs for people who don’t have access to a welder.
