"Cody is truly an artist ar what he does. I have seen many of his designs and they are perfection. I needed some help with a landscaping project requiring some grading of my driveway and moving some large oleanders with a bobcat. Had everything done in just a few hours and was very fair with his pricing. His work is absolutely impeccable. I truly can’t say enough good things about Cody – trustworthy, integrity, great to work with, accommodating, advising. You’re really get it all. I would not hesitate to have him work on any project."

"Brandon was wonderful! I had a rain gutter falling off my house and could not find anyone to fix it. Then Brandon answered the call. He came by (Apple Valley) after working in St.Geo. it was getting late, sun going down but he showed up. Did a great job. I was so relieved to finally get that fixed. And what a great guy! Enjoyed talking with him. Thanks so much, Kay"

"I received a quote quickly, and work was scheduled and done more than promptly! I had a yard of over grown plants I didn’t know how to deal with. Southern Landscaping made quick work of it and talked me through the plans and costs. It turned out just as expected. Additionally they worked on my sprinkler and leveling gravel in the yard. Communication was excellent!! Highly recommend!!"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

If you are xeriscaping a lawn from scratch, your best bet for preparing the lawn is to work with a xeriscaping specialist in your area. The most common first step to making the transformation, however, will be to remove the turfgrass from your lawn. The subsequent steps will often include amending the soil to support new plants and installing low-drip or drip irrigation systems.

We always recommend wearing a protective mask when blowing leaves (as well as goggles if possible). Blowing leaves creates a lot of dust, and in many cases that dust contains a bunch of allergens that can make those sensitive very miserable. Even worse, moldy leaves can contain fungi and bacteria that could make humans as animals very sick. Mask up before starting your leaf project, and if anyone is helping you collect the leaves it’s a good idea if they wear a mask, too.

Yard waste should be professionally removed at least once per season, particularly during major landscaping projects, fall leaf accumulation, or after severe weather. Regular removal promotes lawn health and maintains a neat exterior.

No, cleaning dog poop off artificial grass is straightforward. First, you’ll remove all the solid poop and place it in a bag. Then, you’ll use a homemade liquid dish soap and water solution to help wash and sanitize the area. Finally, you’ll hose the area with water to remove the soapy solution and odor.

Yes, but it depends on what you have planted in yours and the extent of the damage. Hardier shrubs and plants with droopy leaves have a better chance of bouncing back, but do go ahead and cut back any broken branches or damaged portions. Fertilizer can help, but wait until you spot new growth before you feed any plants.
