"It's hard to remember if it was good or bad.  I went with somebody else and the wasps came back for them too.  I remember having an awful battle with wasps last year.  They were pretty fast coming out.  I was pleased with all of the pest control people I used. "

"The first contact was with a gentleman named Phil. He was quite professional and knowledgeable in his field. He took the time to explain how to manage my bird mite infestation and the products they used. On the same day, I met with Bryan who carried the company’s professionalism through my door. Very nice gentleman who took his time spraying inside and outside my house. When he was done, he reviewed with me where he sprayed and places he laid traps. He was probably on premise for 30-40 minutes. I got a follow-up email from Kayla welcoming me to EcoGen with information about the company and the different service plans they provided. Then within 30 minutes of Bryan’s departure I got an invoice from Michelle detailing the service performed at my home by Bryan. The team in Phil, Kayla, Bryan, and Michelle was top notch! They “wowed” me and gave me first class treatment. I am definitely keeping this team! Thank you HomeAdvisor for your service because without you, I would not have met such an awesome team!"

"They are great and always done outstanding work. Have owned various properties and used many companies for yard service. They are by far the best I have used. Have always had good follow up and people have always asked who has done the services. So have referred them to plenty of people already."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

It's advisable to avoid using harmful methods to eliminate birds. Poisoning birds is inhumane and can have unintended ecological consequences, affecting other wildlife and pets. Similarly, using firearms or other lethal means poses safety risks and could be illegal in many areas. Sticky substances like adhesives can cause birds to become trapped and injured. Lastly, playing excessively loud or distressing noises can stress birds and humans. Focusing on humane and environmentally responsible strategies is essential when dealing with bird issues.

Keeping your pool cover clean is a good way to keep smaller animals from running across it or using it as shelter. Small animals may use leaf debris on top of the cover to hide. Cleaning also removes nuts that may fall from a nearby tree that could otherwise be a tempting snack for some animals, like squirrels.

Certain strong smells may help repel bats, though this is not a foolproof method and is best used in conjunction with other deterrence strategies. Scents like peppermint oil, eucalyptus, cinnamon, cloves, and mint are often suggested as natural remedies. To create a spray, you can mix two cups of warm water with half a cup of sugar and a few drops of your preferred essential oil. Apply this mixture using a spray bottle to possible entry points and throughout the affected area, such as an attic. While this home remedy is popular, evidence supporting its effectiveness is limited.

DIY removal of birds or bats is not recommended due to safety risks and potential legal protections for certain species. While simple prevention methods can be done yourself, actual removal and control of an infestation should be handled by professionals who are familiar with safe, humane, and effective techniques.

Small amounts of geese are actually good for the environment. They help spread seeds and lead to more plant growth, but they’re often an invasive species, particularly Canadian geese. This means a small gaggle can quickly grow into a level that litters your lawn with bald patches and excrement.
