"Kent Nickell Construction are amazing to work with! As a single mom, I was overwhelmed with finding a builder I felt I could trust and that wouldn’t charge extra on things. They were very clear with cost and gave me a cost guide and budget that was easy to follow with the sub-contractors they were working with. Any time I had a question they took the time to explain things out so that I could understand. They took me aside and encouraged me to do plans for a future basement so that when I finished it I would have the plans all figured out, and then priced out the home with and without the basement so I could make a decision from the get go. I didn’t think I would be able to do a basement rental right away, but with them taking the time going over the pros and cons, it was an easy decision to put a rental in right away to help me with mortgage costs and didn’t cost me a ton more. I built in 2023, one of Utahs wettest years we had in a while, and they went above and beyond with making sure that my basement would be protected. All the while keeping me informed. They knew my needs would be different than a double income family and I felt like they made sure any choices I made would benefit me in the long run and not break my budget. "The renovation went very smooth I really have never hired a contractor before this, but I’ve heard horror stories.... so I think I just got super lucky. I was amazed at the speed everything was getting finished. He also kept everything super clean each day and cleaned up extra stuff that wasn’t his, I was really impressed. Everything was in budget as well not only that but after paying my total, at the last minute I wanted to add a digital deadbolt lock. It took a month for me to remember to buy one first of all, when I had it I gave him a call.
