"I am extremely pleased with the energy saving work done on my house by Greenify. I worked with Aaron, who is very approachable and explained the different options and process in detail and answered all my questions so that I understood completely. My house is old and the insulation was poor, so with Greenify I was able to get a package deal for attic and wall insulation, new windows, air sealing, a new roof and solar that I found affordable with financing. After all these improvements my home is very comfortable without having to use the AC all the time. Before it would get very hot so that I couldn’t spend time upstairs in the summer. Blake, who oversaw the insulation work, even fixed my broken steps in back as an extra. Everything was done in a timely manner. Mark (insulation), Gustavo (solar) and Jason (windows) were great to work with. I strongly recommend this company for any energy improvement work that you need."

"It was great working with Vantage Point Roofing! The price was very fair. Rob was responsive and went above and beyond to fixing the items on my roof. I will definitely hire them when I need a new roof or any more work done on my existing roof."

"I had 2 windows installed and the molding is very much different than the rest of the house. According to the sales person the window frame suppose to be like the existing Windows. They states they do not paint which left the window looking a mess. If you are paying this much for a window it should be done to completion. The window is not sealed somewhere because little small insects are coming through the Kitchen window. One of the Window glass is cracked from the inside of the frame which I am sure it is for all the banging to fit the window. The glass on the Kitchen window does not seem as thick as the other window from the interior. I am still waiting for them to come out and replace the glass which the last time I spoke to someone at Champion it was for February,2019. The Windows blocks the sun temperature very well. Do not expect these Windows to be like your existing Windows. I expected a complete window installation."

Glaziers FAQs, answered by experts

Prior to the middle part of the 1900s, glass manufacturers used a technique that involved blowing glass into cylinder shapes that were then flattened out to create sheets used for windows and doors. This technique often left behind ripples and inconsistencies in the glass.

The easiest way for DIYers to smooth the edges of cut glass is to use sandpaper. Wearing protective gloves, gently sand the sharp edges smooth using low-grit sandpaper and working up to high-grit sandpaper. You can also use a multitool with a rotating sandpaper cylinder to make quicker work of the project.

Options include tempered, laminated, and tinted glass for various needs.

You can use hot, soapy water, white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, window cleaner, nail polish remover, WD-40, and cooking oil to remove glass labels. You can also apply heat with a hair dryer or steam cleaner. Use a plastic scraper or credit card to remove the adhesive, as a razor blade can permanently scratch your glass.

Yes, it is possible to repair a damaged or cracked mirror, but whether you should do it yourself depends on the extent of the damage. For minor issues like small chips, cracks, and scratches, you can use a DIY approach. Resin-based repair kits can fix minor cracks, while scratches can often be removed with metal polish, nail polish, baking soda, or a glass polisher. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the best results.

However, for more significant damage, DIY repair is not recommended. Repairing and resilvering mirrors is a delicate process that can involve caustic chemicals and requires a high level of precision. The materials for a DIY attempt can cost over $100, which may not be a significant saving compared to hiring a professional. Since a failed attempt could result in more damage and higher repair costs, it is often better to hire a mirror repair expert from the start, especially for large, valuable, or extensively damaged mirrors.
