"AR Coston Landscaping fixed an existing brick paver walkway that had significant settling issues. Also reset the entire edge of our patio with a cement base that replaced the old failing plastic edge. Their work was very detailed and precise. It made our patios and walkway between look better than new. I would hire them again!"

"Evia Concrete LLC performance was outstanding. They made suggestions to increase the over appearance of both the fence and yard. The decorative stamp turned out great. They were easy to work with, I’d hire them again for a future project."

"A neighbor recommended them after they did a great job doing terrace landscaping her backyard. I texted an inquiry and got a bid the same day. They started work two days later and finished quickly. "this guy did great work on my patio. I just had a 12 x 8’ slab for my hot spring hot tub get installed next week. Very excited for my hot tub on the concrete. Looked great. Got bids from a couple guys. "Cesar did an awesome job! He removed three large concrete footings left from some old fence posts, and then installed three new 4x4 fence posts with new concrete footings. He gave me a bid, started that same day, and then finished on the second day. I couldn't have been more pleased. He works hard, is honest and reliable. Thank you Cesar!"

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, it can be worth screening a porch if you live in an area with beautiful weather, since it allows you to enjoy your outdoor space longer in the spring and summer. The additional protected space may even attract more prospective buyers if you intend to sell—especially if you add seasonal features, like a ceiling fan for summer or a heater to winterize your screened porch.

Building a sunroom can take anywhere from two weeks to six months. An average-sized sunroom typically takes between two and eight weeks to complete, but more elaborate or larger projects can take longer. The final timeline depends on factors such as the sunroom's size, features, structural requirements, type, and whether it's a retrofit or a new build from scratch.

Prefab kits like a small sunroom for around $20,000 or even a basic gazebo roof for as little as $60 can save you big over professional installation. However, you lose the option for customization, and these structures tend not to last nearly as long. As for bigger projects like a deck or patio, you shouldn’t go with the DIY route unless you’re fully prepped with the tools and know-how to get it done right. Mistakes can be frustrating and costly, so choose a pro if you’re looking to eliminate your risk of error.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it meets certain criteria. For instance, it must be completely enclosed with solid walls and a roof. It should also have a heating and cooling source similar to the rest of the home. Finally, the porch should have direct access to and from the interior of your house.

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.
