"This was a life-saver. I was afraid no one could repair the damage to my very expensive carpeting. But Sean and his co-worker fixed every issue and even replaced the carpet tacks that weren't at the right level from the first installation. They used some extra carpet that I had to put in new pieces where the damage was too extensive to fix. They were so knowledgeable and good to explain the cause of every problem. It finally now looks like it did before the water damage."

"I had recently purchased a new dishwasher but it was leaking whenever it would run, after hours I spent trying to figure it out on my own and possibly making things worse I gave up and called MO?s Service. A young man named Issac showed up and he was very kind and very knowledgeable, he had all the tools necessary and answered all the questions I had for him. It turns out the person who delivered and hooked up my dishwasher didn?t quite tighten a fitting. I will continue to use MO?s service for any further household projects I have and I will recommend them to anyone!"

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

Pros use power stretchers that secure the carpet firmly in place.

Yes, carpets should be replaced after a house fire or significant smoke damage, even if they appear undamaged. Smoke, soot, particulates, and chemicals can penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and padding, making complete removal a complicated and time-consuming process. If water was used to extinguish the fire, it can also soak through the carpet and padding, creating a risk of mold and mildew growth. Due to these challenges and potential health risks, replacing the carpet is the safest and most effective solution.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.

There are a few carpet maintenance tips you’ll want to use to keep your carpet looking brand-new. Make sure you tackle stains immediately, and only use cleaners gentle enough for your carpet's specific fibers. You can even pop area rugs on top of wall-to-wall carpeting to change the look of your space and protect the carpet below.
