Mike Ball Irrigation,Landscape and Lighting is a full service design and installation company. I am a certified ICPI interlocking concrete paver installer and a Texas licensed irrigator (LI18889). I have been in the Houston landscape Industry since 1986. I specialize in Water conserving sprinkler systems, concrete pavers, LED Landscape Lighting and low maintenance landscape design.

"We hired Mike Ball's company to clear out a badly overgrown and waterlogged part of our yard, to install a stone patio, improve the drainage, and create flower beds. They did a fantastic job! Mike really knows his stuff, giving us good ideas about design and landscaping. They also worked quickly but thoroughly, were very reliable, cleaned up thoroughly after themselves, and were priced very reasonably. Very happy customers; we'll definitely be back!"

We are a father and son company. We have one additional helper. Started HandyMan Services in 1986. Veteran of the U.S. Navy. We are a small company that excels in the personal touch. All your home and remodeling needs. We do all wood repairs and add-on's, taking care of all repairs from start to finish. Generally we don't sub out any work but when we do we stand by our subs work and use only carefully screened people. Having all the tools known to mankind helps us accomplish all given tasks. Our charge is $45 per hour for Tech and $20 for helper. Will travel. Two men at least on the job to complete the task quicker. Most jobs we like to bid so you have a clear idea at the start what your cost is. On occasion by the hour is necessary on projects that have a lot of unknowns. Payment is 50% up front and 50% at completion in most cases. All material money in advance or you supply all material to be on site at the beginning of the job. Communication is the most important aspect of this business. We pride ourselves in this. We do not start your project until our schedule permits. Most of the time we are booked as far as 3 months in advance, but normally we prefer 2 weeks in advance bookings. Most of our clients become life long friends. And above all else, we understand you are our bread and butter, who deserves respect and the feeling that you got your moneys worth. Looking forward to working with you. Additional email - [email protected].

"Louie and his crew did an amazing job with a badly leaking system caused by fence construction company and another landscaper. They were very efficient in finding all the brakes and leaks. Worked tirelessly for 5 hours and got the job done..."

Rototilling questions, answered by experts

Pea gravel is hands down a top pick for managing landscape drainage.  These small stones allow water to flow through easily by creating natural gaps that promote runoff. Beyond functionality, pea gravel also offers visual versatility. Homeowners will find a range of earthy tones like gray, brown, blue, and even red, making it easy to match with different outdoor styles and plantings.

Professionals who complete perc tests can usually do them in a single day. Including excavating to expose the test site, filling the hole with water, and monitoring it while it drains, you can expect the test to take between four and eight hours total. It’s possible that you’ll get the results the same day, but some companies may take a few days to get official results.

Not typically. A paver patio drainage problem generally requires a landscaping fix that can include a drainage pipe or dry well capable of handling the amount of runoff in your yard.

Professional equipment adapts to different terrains, ensuring thorough aeration across all lawn areas.

Many ways to landscape a steep slope on a budget exist. Avoiding expensive retaining wall construction is the first step. Consider creating a rocky slope with boulders or large stones, or think about planting perennials that return every year with a single investment. Transplanting small trees from elsewhere on your property is also possible and can help to stabilize steep slopes without purchasing new ones.
